The Avid & Apathy Chapter 1 [V0.3.1]

FORWARD

This is an extremely early alpha of the module, and currently exists largely to get feedback on the direction of the gameplay mechanics. A large number of planned features have not yet been implemented and the story is not yet complete. Some gameplay glitches may also occur.

Avid & Apathy is being developed from a "gameplay first" perspective. That is, the full story will only be implemented after the new gameplay mechanics are functioning. The story, as is currently planned, is meant to be a personal revenge tale focused on the concept of a flawed protagonist.

As the mod is still in early alpha, combat has not yet been adequately balanced. Save often, and there's no shame in turning on God Mode.

Features that are currently implemented are:
-Recruiting Nomads and pride building
-Adrenaline System
-Mission selection
-Planning Nomad loadouts before missions
-Weapon, firearms and spell merchants
-Hazard Pay
-Firearm Ammunition mechanics.
-Contraband confiscation
-Character Relationships
-Conquest and Assassination missions.
-Sponsorships

Features that have not yet been implemented are:
-Cosmetic Respect mechanics
-Sponsorship special weapons.
-Skirmish and Retrieval missions
-Complete plot


Installing
----------------------------------------------------
To install the mod manually, simply drop all folders in the .rar file into your "Documents\Neverwinter Nights" directory. Windows should automatically merge mod files with existing NWN folders. If updating from an earlier version of the mod, let Windows overwrite all existing versions of files. The module should now be available in your custom module list from the Neverwinter Nights main menu.

REQUIREMENTS

(NOTE: Newer versions of D20 Modern Mod above 2.1 may cause tileset conflicts and improper heads. To be fixed in a later update.)

WARNINGS
----------------------------------------
- A human, elf or half-elf character, age 18-35 and at level 1 to 5 is recommended.

- This module will make changes to whichever character you use, including changing subrace and eliminating their existing equipment permanently.

- This module was not designed or tested using the Hardcore Rules mode. Since the game deliberately breaks some D&D rules, I would not advise any player attempt to complete the module on Hardcore mode.

KNOWN ISSUES
----------------------------------------

- Pressing escape during cutscene conversations can lock the game.

- At present, only 3 of the 7 recruitable Nomads have a proper dialogue or backstory to recruiting them. The rest you can simply walk up to and say "Yes" to get them into your pride.

- As of this version, the plot cannot advance past part 2 of the "Chasing Shadows" quest.

- The Sponsorship system is still being tweaked and may show some unexpected behavior.

Glitch fixes:
-Reduced likelihood that player's clone will be naked in certain cutscenes.
-Seat object in the UN FOB is now disabled.
-Morigo no longer re-triggers the entire dialogue that causes him to clone himself.
-Naje no longer gets up and joins the party in the Hideout before she is recruited.
-Fixed math issue with money rewards upon winning a mission.
-Speeding through the Hideout intro conversation should no longer freeze the game.
-Morigo now takes a weapon when offered one.
-Naje and Xakari no longer have creature weapons.
-Naje now has a different dialogue response when spoken to a second time in the Hideout if not recruited.

0.15 - FEATURES
-New merchants for spells, firearms.
-New and Rebalanced all firearms.
-Implemented Cell Phone item and conversations.
-Implemented weapon confiscation

-Implemented Relationship system, changed mood "Happiness" to "Affection".

IMPROVEMENTS
-All recruitable Nomads now have a set of bandages in their inventory and one unique weapon.
-Recruiting mythans (Xakari and Naje) now harms your Respect, triggers a conversation with Vallo.
-Mythans are now included with the randomized pedestrians in Boston areas.

-FIXES
-The intimidation check during the conversation with Casper Guerra now has a success outcome.
-Corrected issue where module required some outdated D20 hakpaks.
-Resting in the Hideout now requires selecting a bed object, will advanced time by 8 hours.
-Fixed issue where duplicate items would appear in a Nomad's locker after a mission.
-Added supply boxes to the Jordan: NATO Base and England: Trafalgar Square missions.
-England: Trafalgar Square mission is more challenging, requires all command zones to be captured.
-Fixed issue where selecting the Capilla De Raguel mission, then changing pridemates, would cause a completely different mission to play.
-"Faction" is no longer listed under information for each mission.
-Nomad Hazard Pay is now displayed when assigning Nomads to a mission.

0.2 - FIRST STEAM RELEASE
-Fully stocked weapons store with all weapons currently planned for Chapter 1.
-New mission: Detroit - Aqueducts (first Assassination mission)
-New fixed camera feature for certain areas.
-Added flashlight equipment.

IMPROVEMENTS
-Enhanced opening cutscene.
-Conquest missions now require 80% base control to win, %20 to lose. This ensures that there are still enemies with a fighting chance even at the last Command Zone.
-Tutorial section now adds journal entries for each topic.
-The cutscene at the end of a mission now plays on predefined waypoints rather than each individual Command Zone.
-Enhanced detail to many areas.
-Added additional Cartel enemies to the Capilla De Raguel area.
-Added cap to maximum Respect that can be earned during Chapter 1.
-Mission difficulty is now pre-assigned to each mission, rather than chosen at random.
-Reshuffled soundtrack to be more consistent. Removed music from July Anarchy Prologue. New music added.
-Recruiting Nomads now starts them off with a relationship boost.

FIXES
-Returning Nomad equipment to lockers is done by copying items rather than creating them, reducing overhead.
-Xakari now has functional combat dialogue.
-Fixed issue that would cause the first conversation with Toombs to malfunction in the Enhanced Edition.
-Fixed issues that arose when selecting the third option during Naje's first conversation with PC.
-Rebalanced prices for weapons.
-Missions now reward more money.

0.3 - 2/4/2019

-Implemented Sponsorship system.

-All firearms now cause piercing damage instead of ballistic damage, so that the stock piercing damage resistance effect can be useful.
-Experimented with an opening/closing schedule for certain stores, currently only applied to the bookstore.
-Using the bed objects in the Hideout now informs players that time will advance.
-The Radio in the Hideout can now be turned on and off.
-Added more detail to important areas in Boston to make them easier to find.
-The Shadowmancer now has her spells replenished every so often to prevent the battle turning against her.
-Rebalanced the difficulty rating of missions so that the Katsuragi Shrines mission now ranks below the NATO Base mission.
-Most Nomads now have unique items that grant them bonuses.
-Rewrote battle spawn system so that creatures can be used for all mission types.
-Rewrote much of Naje's dialogue.

FIXES
-Fixed glitch that would cause at least 1 party member to lose their equipment after a mission (Wow that one was hard to fix!)
- Mythans in the Chapel Undercroft no longer sometimes become hostile to player party members while fighting the Cartel.

-Upgraded haks to CEP 2.4 and D20 2.2
-Redesigned areas to take advantage of Enhanced Edition capabilities and new D20/CEP content.
-Implemented functioning background effects for Vengeance Seeker, Ex-Con, Ex-Military, Rock Star, Anarchist.
-Implemented functions for all new weapon feats as well as Deep Pockets, Bullet Slice, Bullet Dodge.
