[Solved] University & Sanitorium Priority
Ok, been playing with this for a while.

https://ufile.io/ufdic

Both mod options are set to default, which is clicked on, priority one.

Take a look at Princeton. The Sanitorium has people, and the Universities are full, but there's 31 vacant work slots.

If I uncheck both, nothing changes.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't the vacant jobs get filled first, then the Sanitoriums & Universities, with the priority one option?

Sorry if I'm a pain. I know none of this may matter after the next update, and we'll be starting over again.

But, I happen to be at the part of my colony, that is directly related to this mod, and my colony is set up perfect for various testing, so, that's what I've been doing, lol.

I'll look into it.
Note that the university priority set to 1 only works for new universities, and it only sets the priority in the user ui to 1, which you can do yourself.
If you change it once after building it, it doesn't change back so you can play as you want to.

Honestly, I never played with the priority on the building itself, since I thought it was for maintenence only. And these Universities, were built before I added your Mod.

I will go test and play around with the priorities for them now.
Kyun  [developer] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:28am
Ok the mod only sets the priority for new universities, you can set it manually (so changing the setting in mod config doesn't change old universities).

I noticed you have specialized workers in universities ?!! Is this due to my mod or another one you use ? It could be the issue, it's not supposed to happen.
Stocky 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:29am
I see now, I just built a new Univ, and it was at it's lowest priority with your Mod, which would mean it would be filled last.

As a result, does that building come last now for maintenence as well?
Kyun  [developer] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:30am
Yes it does sadly. I think you have a mod conflicting with mine. The university options (idiots do not train too) will probably not work.
Stocky 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:31am
As far as the specialized workers in the Univs, I wasn't sure why that happened as well. I don't use other mods related to it, so???????

I assumed it was because there were no specialized jobs at the moment, and they were in no rush to leave, lol.

But, I'll test that next.

No, no other conflicting mods

Other saves I got from other people in bug reports were fine in that regard, I tested it and specialists don't go to universities.

The mods you have on your save that I don't use are : Trace's content pack, larger depots, more dome buildings, more outside buildings, longer tunnels tech and oval dome unlocked (I use my mod which adds a research and doesn't take a breakthrough slot btw :p).
Kyun  [developer] 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:38am
Get Babic saves from the other discussion, disable the mods I don't have, and check his universities : specialists can't go to them, so it's not my mod.
Stocky 22 Apr, 2018 @ 9:40am
I'll check that Mod out.

I'll be abandoning this save in a few days with the new patch anyway. Passages will change a how we play, I think.

Thanks for the help.

I'll mark this thread solved.

edit: How do I mark this thread solved, lol?

Np, I really have no idea what could make your specialists go to universities unless you have a mod overwritting MartianUniversity:CanTrain :
function MartianUniversity:CanTrain(unit) if not unit.traits.none or unit.traits.Senior and not g_SeniorsCanWork then return .... end
unit.traits.none is for unspecialized workers, so only them can go to universities. You can look if any mod has that function in its lua code.

edit : you can edit your discussion title and add [ fixed ] before it.

I am so lost right now.

Shut off all my mods.

Built a brand new dome, and put in 1 Univ & 1 Apartments.

Set dome filters to no children & prefer non specialists.

Let time run, and both specialists and non specialists were filling up the University slots.

The only way to stop it, is by not allowing specialists in that dome, but I didn't want to have to do that.

Try to verify the integrity of your game files with steam (right click on game, properties, local files, should be there). You definetly have an issue somewhere, specialists aren't supposed to be able to go to universities. Did you drop additional files into your installation folder ? I don't know what else could cause this :(

edit : i think your save is lost, you can't go back, try on a new game. Use the sandbox mod for free and instant building so you can test it faster.
