Official Bug Report Thread
3/6/21: With the release of BA2, this addon is no longer supported. You can submit bug reports if you really want to, but they will not be fixed.

A lot of bug reports have been going out lately, and that's a good thing. However, to improve communication and prevent the comment/discussion sections from getting messily saturated with them, I would prefer if they are sent here instead.
Keep these questions in mind as you write your report:
  1. What does the bug do?
  2. How do you reproduce the bug?
  3. How long have you known that the bug exists?
  4. Does the bug involve any errors in the console? If so, include the error in your report.
  5. Are you subscribed to any of the known incompatibilities?
  6. Are you subscribed to any other addons that may be causing problems?
The more of these questions you answer, the more easily I can fix your problem. Long story short: "My game is broken" is not a good bug report.

1. GMod Crashes-to-Desktop when dead NPCs reanimate. Spawned Type Zeros act just fine, however, anything that involves the reanimating causes an immediate CTD.
2. I've allowed the infected to kill Kleiners and citizens, and have tried any of the tools that release gas.
3. Since I've downloaded it last night (2/13)
4. I was subscribed to LiteGibs, and was aware of the graphical glitch, but disabling it seems to have no other impact on this problem..
5. I was previously subscribed to NPC improvement addons, specifically Improved Combine NPCs and Sandbox NPCs. I've since turned off all addons that affect NPCs. I also thought maybe having Enhanced Citizens V4 might have affected it since it's related to the Infected Citizens, but that doesn't seem to have any impact.

I don't know how to read minidump files that might give me clues as to what happened, but my speculation is that something happens trying to read ba_altmodels.txt.

The zombies are slightly elevated from the ground and it's really bothering me. Was this intended to fix some sort of physics conundrum? Or is it a bug?

EDIT: Lemme follow the format I missed, lol.

1: Zombies are slightly elevated from the ground upon spawning
2: Spawn a zombie
3: I got it today and have noticed this. (No LUA or General errors were shown involving the addon.)
4: I am subscribed to the iNPC addon, but I'm not sure if that would impact the zombies' physics
5: I WAS subscribed to the original Zed 4 Dead addon, but have since removed it.

My best guess is something to do with the transformation of the model. Maybe the Y-Axis was jerked up a bit by the model editing software that was used?

every time I kill a zombie,it has 2 different bodies, one was the pose before it died and then the other plays the death animation.

1. infected NPCs won't change skin into Infected Citizen model. However at certain range or occassion (usually when you are grabbed by them), you can see the Infected Citizen model actually overlapping and phasing with the HL2 citizen model.
2. spawn a citizen and a type zero, let the type zero kills and when the citizen rises as zombie he/she still use original HL2 model
3. from yesterday, the very first time I subbed to the addon
4. I used to subscribe to LiteGibs, but I have uninstalled it a long time ago
5. no, this bug still happen even when I disabled all addon and only enabled BA, NMRIH animation for BA and Infected Citizens model pack
This mod confuses certain SNPC's and makes them think that the infected are civilians and more often than not, they'll refuse to assist me in firefights. The infected will also be confused and (try to) attack them. But failing. I'm talking about VJ base SNPC's. And they'll turn hostile on me if I fight the infected. Any fix? I tested this using type zero spawner.

There's a specific bug, it has something to do with the infection cloud, after once in in awhile in a game, the infection cloud no longer infects normal npcs and creates script errors, this has to do with the Virus Sample, Infection area, and Infection air(covers entire map).

If so, include the error in your report.
I can't emphasize this enough.

That's the only way I can explain it
GaussTheWizard  [developer] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 3:27pm
Do you know how to use the developer console? That is where the only useful part of those script errors appear.

...Yes

That's because infected are heavily modified citizens, but the code that makes other NPCs attack them doesn't pick up VJ NPCs. I will do my best to look into this issue, as it affects around half the NPCs on the workshop.

This should be fixed in the future. Thank you!
