Tau
Markerlights: Several Tau units (Strike Teams, Pathfinders, XV25 Stealth, Sniper Teams) have the markerlight ability. This allows them to illuminate enemy targets for a brief period, making them easier to hit. Pathfinders have this ability on a much shorter cooldown.


Tau Line Units:

Strike Team (dark reapers): Infantry with long range pulse rifles, plasma grenades, and markerlights.

Kroot Hounds (bloodletters): Melee units with sharp teeth.

Pathfinder Team (dire avengers): Armed with pulse carbines, that can be upgraded to armor piercing ion rifles. Also plasma grenades and rapid cooldown markerlights.

Sniper Team (rangers and autarch): Firesight Marksman spotter provides markerlights and improved accuracy for group of sniper drones.

XV25 Stealth Battlesuits (howling banshees): Stealth squad with burst cannons and markerlights. One squad member capable of fusion blaster upgrade.

XV8 Crisis Battlesuits (warp spiders): Tough infantry with burst cannons. Squad can be upgraded to cyclic ion rifles.

Vespid Stingwings (shadow spectres): Flying infantry with neutron blasters.

TX4 Piranha (vyper): High speed skimmer with burst cannon and dual pulse carbines.

TY7 Devilfish (falcon): Skimmer transport that can reinforce. Burst cannon and dual pulse carbines.

TX7 Hammerhead (fire prism): Skimmer tank with anti-vehicle railgun, and dual pulse carbines.

Tau Elite Units:

Tau Commander (ronahn): Armed with a burst cannon and missile pod.

Ethereal (farseer): Provides damage reduction to nearby allies while boosting damage output.

XV88 Broadside (wraithknight): Large unit with heavy rail rifle and dual smart missile systems.

XV95 Ghostkeel (wraithknight): Armed with powerful fusion collider and dual burst cannons.

XV104 Riptide (wraithknight): Large durable unit with heavy burst cannon and dual smart missile systems. Nova reactor allows for increased damage at the cost of health.

Cant build the XV95, does anyone know why?

Not sure what was going wrong, but Ghostkeel works now.
Yeah works now, thx! Tbh you should use different Walkers for the XV88, XV95 and XV104. Dunno if thats possible.
And the Kroot Hounds... are useless. They die way to fast, sure they are cheap but they die faster then i can rebuild them. Its also a bit unpractical that the Hounds are so much faster then the Etheral, so he cant protect em.

Unfortunately they need to have ranged weapons on the model in order to use them. I suppose I could make one an imperial knight. As for the kroot hounds, I use them as melee counters to things like noise marines. But I'll have a look at them.
Are you sure Vespid Stingwings do dmg vs vehicles? They seem horrible underwhelming... I mean you need to be T2, need to Build the Building which is all together ~350 Power and then the Stingwings arent destroying some early vehicles left and right?

Just checked, they do normal damage. Do I say somewhere that they're supposed to be anti vehicle?
Werent they anti vehicle in DOW 1? Whats the anti vehicle unit for Tau if these guys arent?

Upgraded pathfinders and upgraded xv8s are anti-vehicle.
any updates on this?
