How to Clear the Game Cache
If you're having troubles getting a mod to work correctly, it often helps improve performance by clearing the game cache.

This is especially true if you routinely change up the list of mods you're currently playing. Mods are designed assuming these databases to be in a clean condition. Often, however, adding or removing mods from your normal play mix will leave various artifacts in game databases that will cause conflict with other mods.

To mitigate this, about the only thing you can do is clear the game cache. There's no problem with this, as the game will regenerate "clean" copies of these databases the next time the game starts.

The only downside is that while the game is generating these databases, it will also download fresh copies of all the mods to which you're subscribed. If you've subscribed to a lot of mods, this may take a few extra seconds. But at least you'll have the latest version of all of your mods.

Instructions - to clear the game cache, here is what you need to do:

1. In Windows, press the WIN Key-E combination to open the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer)

2. Navigate to the game's cache folder, usually located some place like this:

C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache

Where XXXX is the account the game was installed under

3. Delete everything in the folder

4. Restart Civ V, enable the mod you're having trouble with, and try again
