Arachne armor balance
I just had my first Arachne raid and I think their armor provides WAY too much protection. My double auto cannons bounce right off their armor. It was no surprise my heavy SMGs weren't strong enough but I'm running the elder things mod that has a mid-tier laser weapon and even that gets fully blocked. I was only able to kill them by causing enough bruises and crushes to kill them.

Way too OP, please nerf armor.

I think so? Sorry I don't really remember. I was playing on losing is fun so I expected some rough raids but getting those armored arachne early was even more of a nuisance than getting raids with shield belts even that early on into my run.

hmm. i guess i'll check it when i have time. although the armor stats is similar to vanilla armor, i'll check it again later. although, if you're getting power armored arachne early, idk how that happen. 1.1 and 1.2 faction pawn generation is a copy of vanilla so thats weird.

This actually was the first time I used the spartan foundry mod for power armor... Maybe that's what it was then. Cos yeah I wanted to cry watching my double auto cannons shells bouncing off.

No, i dont think that is it. oskar's mod usualy vanilla friendly and only affects vanilla.
I know arachne armor uses (stuff) leather for armor because you can make them using any leather, in the past it doesnt affect armor value. something might have changed with rimworld, so i'll have to look at it. still have not got to that yet.

(stuff) as material usualy means more leather mod you install the more op the armor is. something dumb can happen like armor plate is stronger than power armor.

Well, did a bit of checking, armor stat is similar to marine power armor.
hit point if im not mistaken only affects deterioration, tho combat extended uses that as durability i think. hit point wont bounce off bullet.

I think its just arachne regen and probly cause arachne has 20% blunt defense.
not that blunt have much effect cause bullets are mostly sharp damage
I'll do more checking after 29th but it doesnt seem like armor is the problem.

I hadnt faced any marine armor human raids during for a huge time chunk of that time so I guess I didn't notice my armor pen capabilities slipping. Plenty of recon armor but nothing that withstood the constant barrage of lower caliber shots. I had perfect cover so it was more time consuming than difficult. But I immediately allied myself with the arachne colonies cos I did noooooot want more of those. Only like 1/4th of the seige had the arachne armor on but that was enough to be a huge pain.

Bit late but tested again yea not any different than vanilla armor. its just that arachne is abit tougher to kill. Marine armor pawn arent that common i guess, but at late game should see fair amount of them

Also updated with small faction tweak, hopefully they raid less and powered armored arachne spawn less too.
