Custom Color Guide
posting this in here in case my description reverts back to the version without this guide

CUSTOM COLORS:
step by step instructions to change the color to what you want:

subscribe to the mod
go to \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\1595802459
the folder should contain the file Nameless_faction_color.mod

copy it to the games mods folder and make a new folder called Nameless_faction_color
so you get \Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods\Nameless_faction_color
and move the 2 files into it

now launch the FCS mod editor via
\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\forgotten construction set.exe

in the program window select the 'Nameless_faction_color' mod from the list
so it says *ACTIVE* next to it and click done
then click the Changes button in the top header

this will bring up a list of all the changes made to the game data by the .mod file
there are only 2 entries. 1 is a color scheme, and the other is adding that color scheme to the player faction
double click 'nameless color' to edit it, it has 2 properties which are color1 and 2 and consist of RGB values
you can type them in manually if you know how to define a specific color, but if you select one a little box
will appear on the right hand side of your selection.
clicking that will bring up a color picker.

after making changes to the color save and simply start the game.
make sure the mod is activated in the game launcher
and voilá, your faction now uses the colors you picked.
if you want to change the color keep in mind you have to restart the game so the data from the .mod file is reloaded
just to be clear, restart the program, you don't have to reimport the game.
however, items that have previously been colored will keep the old colors. you will have to get new items that
haven't had a color assigned to them yet for the new faction colors to show up.
it will automatically color all colorable items that are quipped by any of your faction members on loading a save.
if you want them all to be the same then this is an easy set once and forget operation.
if you want to use a bunch of different custom colors across your characters then
the 'Armour Colouration Shop' mod is a better way of doing it.

you COULD use my method and just keep
changing the colors and restarting the game for full control.
quick tip, if you want to test multiple different colors, don't save the game until you have found the color you are happy with
make a hard save, change color, load save, check, if not to your liking exit, change again and then make sure to load your hard save
and not a more recent autosave.
