Going to start working on advancing up the ranks of the Warmaidens. I believe I know of a good way to do this now.

And luckily, for once, it will be the same quest line, no matter how you become a Warmaiden.

Also: Repeatable escort missions for Warmaidens. Basically it's like reversing the role of player and NPC. Instead of you contracting mercs to protect you, instead there will be randoms at bars asking for your help in escorting them. These escorts will only be unlocked after you complete the first main mission (shared between new recruits and swordsisters). In other words, they will only spawn when you've completed that option.

But, they will also give you an increase in relations with the Warmaiden faction every time you complete it successfully.

And that will also be important later on.

The ability to tell Ionica you don't want to be a Warmaiden anymore, if you're crazy enough to want something like that.

Going to need to code some custom 'follow' scripting to enable repeatable escort missions. Also would like the ability to request a duel from another Warmaiden. Will investigate this further.

Alternate Starts - Warmaiden Squad, and play as the Traitorous Bladedancer (complete with a bounty).

Investigate whether we can get Warmaidens who have already joined your party to leave, if you leave the Warmaidens or piss them off (or the Shek Empire)

Love the mod, just think balance needs a tweak. I recruited a warmaiden pretty early game, and IMHO, the price is too low for the stats that she brings to the table. Because leveling gets exponentially harder, the price for a fresh level 40 recruit shouldn't be a 'step up' from the level 20 ones, but of a whole different order: like 30-40k I reckon. High enough that even when you are flush it gives you pause.

Having high level characters on the team seems to help with everyone leveling as well, when the numbers get crunched over time. Less time bleeding in the dirt, more chances to take swipes at higher level enemies. Just overall more combats won, so more cruising the map with impunity, leading to more XP for the low level recruits. That should be an expensive advantage.

I recruited her for 9k when I had just 'started out' more or less, with my first 12k in the pocket, figuring that she'd be worth her weight in gold. That's been true, but has been a little game breaking.

I love this input. Thank you. In point of fact, they are priced the same as the Mercenaries Guild, but they really *are* a much superior force.

I'll look into this.

I feel for short term hires, because there's only one of them and it's only temporary, mercenary pricing is fine. It was the recruitment I felt was a bit under-priced, because you get them forever.

I'd appreciate if they became compatible with 18+ skins. The texture changes result in a checkerboard mosaic.

@Jide That might need to be another compatibility patch.

What probably happened is that the 18+ skins changed all of the armor to match the new skins, but this armor, based on vanilla assets, might not show properly.

Is there a particular mod you're referring to?

I would like to see a slight nerf to the Warmaidens as I feel they are just too strong overall. I understand they're supposed to be formidable but having a mid tier Warmaiden outstat my starting character after having been over half the map and playing for what must be approaching a couple hundred hours doesn't feel quite right. Additionally even the weakest Warmaidens, which based on the quest to join the faction don't have to be all that, eclipse other recruits and most mercs alike. I don't know exactly how much wiggle room there is there in relation to the ordinary mercs they're meant to be superior to but I think they could use some fine tuning, particularly the stronger ones.

On a related note I noticed the Warmaiden armor buffs unarmed damage and ended up making all of mine fist fighters. Don't know if that's the intended player response and it's not like I didn't have fun with it but it might be worth looking at. I mean you combine those starting numbers with not even needing a weapon to kick ass right from the get go and just... damn. Adds a lot of weight to the increased recruitment cost suggestion above too.

So idk if you work on this mod anymore, its super enjoyable however in my play through i am trying to combat the HN and it is becoming quite challenging (only recruiting warmaidens) to compete with the numbers of the inquisitors. just asking for maybe a bigger warmaiden base and more warmaidens around the world to recruit i already have 2 deathbride partys escorting me lolol

A big ask: But it would be amazing for the warmaidens to have some supreme foil or enemy. Perhaps they could have some kind of rival organization, two different and violently opposed schools of thought.

Perhaps some chauvanistic organization in the Holy nation or UC for example, but apart from those that already exist.

Then quests could be added to combat that foe (and vice versa?)
Maybe male characters who champion the warmaiden cause, while not being allowed to join the maidens, could still receive some recognition this way.

I love the theme here, please keep up the good work! (Also, I suggest raising the price for hiring these ladies, 9k for a swordsister is a steal! I'd suggest closer to 20k for the first level, given that they are already competent fighters.)

Dunno if this is still being updated but can you advance in rank yet or is that in the works? As far as I can tell nobody has any quests for me so am I just stuck at swordsister rank after getting my starter gear from the quartermaster?
