Possible thoughts on balance changes
I really love this mod. I never really played Skaven before because I felt they were somewhat punished. I like the ideas of this mod and how it effected their game play. That being said, I found that my food was above normal almost all the time due to a few tricks I found.

Raiding: You can raid with just a Lord and no units in the army and still get the 10 food. If a lord became low in loyalty I would just move them far from my realm with no units and have them raid. if they finally turned on me, no biggie as they were not close to me and had no units to go with them.
-a possible idea could be making the amount of food gained from raiding equal to 1 per two units in the stack for a total of 10 with a full stack army? im not really a modder so I dont know if something like that is possible but I think it would make sense, the more people you have raiding the more food they can find for you.

Sacking: I noticed early on that it costs 40 food to take a captured settlement to tier 3. But you can sack it for 30 food, and then instantly colonize it on the same turn for 40 food, reducing the food cost to 10. Yes you still loose troops and money, but you can replenish pretty fast and this allowed me to expand very rapidly leaving tier 3 settlements behind me and staying in the green for food almost all the time.
-An idea for this could be to raise the food cost of colonizing by 50%, this way it makes more sense to just convert for the 40 food and it also makes sense that converting would cost less than building from scratch. This would slow you down as you stopped to build a surplus of food again before expanding on.

Post Battle: I almost never did anything but take the +30 food in the post battle options. The only time I might consider something else was due to the fact that I was a good deal of the time at maximum food due to the above factors.
-Perhaps reducing the post battle food gain option to +10 or +15?

None of the above comments are complaints in any way. I honestly feel the mod is great. I just noticed some things in my play through and I thought I would start a discussion to weigh some ideas in how it might be balanced. I should point out my play through was on easy, as I never played Skaven much before and I dont know how difficulty levels might effect the food system, these are just observations I made at that difficulty setting. Great job on this mod Slothy, im going to try your Chaos mod too having liked this one so much.

I was thinking of the same things you’ve said here, I think it might be time to do some balance tweaks as I do feel it is slightly too easy rn. When I come back from vacation I might make some
tweaks then. Thanks for the feedback!

i would definitely tweak it for the upcoming DLC, with the addition of the under empire mechanics, even vanilla skaven will be rolling in way more food than they did before the DLC since any city with an under empire will be able to provide decent food bonuses.

tbh, i'd wait for the DLC to come out tomorrow and add food bonuses to the under empire buildings, and very small bonuses to eating captives, raiding, and sacking/razing.

then you get to tweak balance, update the mod for the DLC, and make it interact with the new mechanics all in one go.
