It can fly but only in auto hover mode for the time being.
- connect to terminal is OK
- control pilot is OK
- switch engine on and increase power is OK
But the drone do not take off at all. It stays on ground forever. I tried every configuration I can think about (w/ or w/o ACE, Zeus, Eden, inventory, w/ keyboard or joystick, w/ or w/o auto hover, w/ or w/o autonomous mode, w/ checkpoints or manually, etc). There is no way to make this thing move.
I checked the PhysX mass of the deployed drone, it says 90kg. I tried modifying it to 10kg and then 1kg, nothing changed.
The bug described reminds me of something similar to what the There Is Only War mod's dev team had to deal with after implementing Tau drones. There's a way to test it to see if it's the same problem.
@Cheitan
In EDEN, spawn the drone REALLY high up. Have a compatible UAV Operator on the ground as the player character. When you run the scenario, quickly link up to the drone and try to fly it. If this makes it work properly, it's the same bug, in which case I know who to talk to about it.
Shoot me a DM on here or via the BI forums; I would like to find out if we can get you to help work this one out.
Are you still attempting to control the drone via autonomous control? If you are then stop attempting to control as it is broken and should not be used and I have mentioned that before.
If you are attempting to control without using autonomous; have you turned down your controllers input speed? If not I have suggested that as a possible work around as it does work for me in testing on my local and dedicated server.
I use a Corsair mouse (have both an M65 Elite RGB and a Nightsword RGB) and both of them allow me to turn down the polling rate input to the mouse and this makes it much easier to control. I have not been able to replicate your issue of the drone not lifting off at all.
I haven't tried changing the calibration of my controllers or mouse, and I won't : the current setup is the one I use to control basically every single vehicle from the base game and various mods. Works great that way. Changing it so it can fit the needs of a single mod doesn't looks like a good idea :/
With my mouse it allows me to adjust polling rate on the fly so I was wondering if you had a button setup that would allow that for control. Either way that would be a temp fix as this is still something I am working on fixing. All attempts so far have ended in failure to produce a viable/reliable fix.
Thanks for the input Frankie. I will look into that as well but I have not noticed any issues with collisions other than when I loose control and it collides with the ground, trees, vehicles, buildings, etc...
For everyone that can't seem to get it off the ground, what kind of controls are you using? i haven't been able to get it off the ground and i'm currently using joystick/throttle combo. i'm curious if mouse/keyboard works better. About to test it, i'll update on results.
