Recommended settings for playing this?

I imagine things like spiders/wolves etc should be turned off but I'm curious if there is some "canon" setting where this is balanced against.

Would love to know what's the intended:
- inventory size
- machine performance settings
- airtightness
- does it require "prevent vanilla spawns" mods?
