Unique Ascension Perks

Feature Request: Enable/Disable Specific Unique Ascension Perks
Would it be possible to be able to disable certain ascension perks through the menu, or add flags that only human players can use them? Some of these ascension perks can be a bit whacky or odd in their effects (Last time I played with this mod every single civilization took Lost Heritage, for example).

I'm no programmer, but I assume what you can do is add a button in the description menu for each Perk that flags whether or not it can be chosen by all, humans only, or never, so while they might appear in the Perk List, they can't be used unless specified.

There are a few perks here that are absolutely disastrous to performance, which is a shame because I love some of the perks - the auto-outpost building event on completing a survey is a QoL godsend. The Cortana perk and the perks that work by creating custom homeless factions in the galaxy (looking at you, Security Strike Forces) are prime examples of why this performance drop happens - the mod has a ton of auto-firing events and AI management where player decisions/edicts/policies should be, leading to huge background overhead.

It's a truly impressive scale and depth for a mod, but the real gems are buried under bloated messes. The best way to experience the mod is to remove some of the perks from its files so Cortana doesn't inundate your error log with megabytes of UI/localization errors, the auto-firing white hole generation event doesn't melt your computer by spamming new systems everywhere, the Security Strike Force doesn't turn into an indestructible galactic political juggernaut hellbent on destroying all pacifist galactic proposals, etc.

I was going to attempt to do that but have no clue how to actually manipulate the files to prevent them from appearing.

Unfortunately to do it without breaking the mod/Stellaris you basically have to reverse engineer it yourself - or at the very least learn the basics of Clausewitz modding. I'm honestly not sure if it might just be easier to make a mod that just has the perks you want on your own. The big performance hogs are also giant messes in the mod code, if I remember the last time I went digging through the files correctly (Cortana in particular was a nightmare to remove completely), but it was admittedly years ago.

Can't you just forego choosing the acension perks?

1. The AI offers no such courtesy,

2. Some of the background auto-events happen at game start, regardless of perk level, to set up the factions they use/abuse to function.

3. I don't usually install mods that ruin the save unless I avoid half of the content they contain.

I agree completely with this. I have never seen anything fill up logs like Cortana does. I think it also caused one of my saves to brick via Stack Overflow whenever I try to load it.

Can manually setup those APs to be avoided by the AI. but the second one would be more complicated. I was looking to see if I added this mod, and I'd rather not include things that harm performance at the moment.
