Though, if I remember right... Yes? I've done it before but that was a long time ago...Even if it does work, the level acts as a headiff, so you'd have to use a character editor to manually add in the levelling system for the pawn.

I'm not sure why it would brick your save? Would you have any log for this?

Sadly not, been some time since I asked and that save when I tried to add it unsuccessfully is deleted already.

Unfortunately not, hugslib logs aren't working for that save.
