Potential bug - Sharp FPS drop after building more than 3 turrets
I have a GTX 1070, and i can run this game at 60+ FPS no problem, but when i have more than 3 turrets placed, my FPS sharply drops to less than 10 FPS. Removing the extra turret makes my FPS go back up to 60 FPS.

Maybe this mod is poorly optimized when there's more than 3 turrets on a single grid.

it's an 8 core processor with 16.0 GB of ram, the FPS just drops for absolutely no reason at all.

yeah i noted that they seem to tank either FPS or sim-speed when built in large amounts (i didn't check which). i refitted a light cruiser of mine to have around 30 of these guns, noted a bit of hitching/stutter but when i copy pasted a spare of that ship in i dropped to what felt like 10 fps.

i am guessing this is either an LOD issue, or a lack of LOD's issue.

(running an AMD R5-2600X, 32 GB RAM, and a RX Vega 56)

I have the same case. either my framerate gets hit, or the sim speed suffers for no reason.

Probably poorly optimized.

Which 8-core processor though? It matters a lot actually, because if it's an older AMD FX processor, it's going to hold back your experience a ton compared to one of the newer Ryzen CPUs. The game only uses 4 cores maximum, so your 8 core chip is wasted compared to anything new.

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 8 Core Processor, my PC is a high end gaming build.

it looks like i'm not the only one with this issue so it can't be just me.

Same here, slide show with just a few turrets, seems to be worst with the black domes. At least on my crappy rig.

I have a fix for it the game starts lagging because the turrets are constantly updating to find a connection with conveyor or anything
so just place a conveyor junction under the connection spot and it will stop trying to update to find a port

doesn't work, i originally built my ship with another type of cannon so conveyors are already there and it doesn't make a difference

the mod is probably poorly optimized, even my high end gaming rig gets hit with this.
