quick clarification: do you mean furret-style as in it should look more pokemon-like (ie just a little creature) rather than looking like a lepidia npc walking?
I don't use Truespace myself, so I'm currently unsure as to how I would make a compatibility patch. I could learn to, but I'm also sort of slow at finishing projects, so I'm not sure when I'd be able to get around to it.
Of course, anyone else who might know how is more than welcome to make a patch themselves if they don't wanna wait for me (which is understandable lmao)
