This post is subject to change in the coming day as we near the February 28th release date.

Honestly, it’s been nearly 2 years since the last major update, (3.5 was more of a stopgap on the way that only a few of us worked on) most of us don’t even remember 3.0-3.5 mod so I am writing this in a very condensed form instead of copy-pasting the entire changelog channel on the discord. Not to mention there’s no way I’d write out all the little value changes or minor things from 2 years of changes.

The Highlights – For most of this see the in-game intro text at the start of a new GC for info.
- Old GC maps replaced with a new Web Way design map with several sizes. The map features Planets, Systems, and Sectors each with tier having it's feature like increased income, building slots, and space structure slots while also being victory relevant to the Campaign to take.
- Starfighters all totally reworked. No more big stiff blob.
- Ground rework now added. Loads of content for all 3 playable factions and the minors.
- 8 Minor Factions who are AI controlled and hostile now populate the galaxy aside from the idle pirates.
- Skirmish Reworked expanding the vast roster into shipyards and research stations.
- Dreadnaught Phases now properly work and implemented.
- GC AI Overhaul to make smarter decisions on the galactic level.
- Station Rework. No more 5 levels to a starbase. Now there are 3 levels of Colony and loads of other support stations like Shipyards, Research, Economic, and Defensive ones.
- GC Economy Reworked. With the new GC map, station rework, and ground added Eco has been drastically reworked to make money much more important.
- Starfighter Attrition Cost. With the Starfighter overhaul also comes paying for lost starfighters from hangars. This is to prevent Carrier Cheese however it does return the money if the carrier dies since you are no longer replacing the fighters. Fighters should no longer be treated as throwaway units but also you should accept losses happen in war.
- Full Audio Overhaul. New VO, Music, and Sound Effects across the entire mod. While not EVERYTHING got changed there is loads and loads of ear porn now.
- Rebel Fighter Buffs. The Rebellion now has more ships that carry fighters early game along with all Rebel fighters (even their variants of neutral ones) all have increased stats compared to others. Details in their tooltips.
- Every planet now have a special image for land and space battle loadscreens instead of one single image.

Other Important Changes
- Mass Drivers no longer penetrate shields. This makes the weapon much more tactical. No longer a end all be all weapon for ships like the Headache Frigate or Keldabe Battleship. Now to properly use MAss Driver artillery you need to have other support ships.
- Starfighter Rework comes with load of new weapon types like Mag-Pulse Missiles, Plasma Torpedos, Armor-Piercing Missiles, High-Explosive Missiles, and more. See in-game tooltips on fighters for what these all do.
- No longer able to start a different tech levels.
- AI factions tech up at the same time you do. You the player "Escalates the Conflict" which is what we're calling Tech Advancing.
- When you tech up the Independent Forces (Orange no-AI static forces) gain more units on their planets.
- Advancing tech level grants the Minor factions bigger and better heroes. Sometimes it can be better to kill them before you tech up just to avoid said heroes.
