4.0.8.2 Update
4.0.8.2 Change Log:
Ground Changes
- increased base shield radius (1000 > 1500)
- base shield added to outposts
- bombardment and bombing run timer increased
- vehicle colllision re enabled
- T1B, AT-AP and AATs rotate towards their target now
- Potential reduction of AI invasion forces

Space Changes
- Acclamator Troop Transport nerfed – Shield HP Removed, Fire rate halved, HP reduced to 4k from 7.5k
- Minor Faction inflated Space Pop fixed (Was 180 now 150 like everyone else)
- Fixed the AI being able to make the Spy MTC which causes GC lag when it moves (And they made dozens)

Minors unit requirement changes
All
- Starbase Pop Bonus changed to 75/100/125
Imperial Defectors
- ISD moved to Starbase Level 3
Republic Hardliners
- Venator moved to Starbase Level 3
CIS Holdouts
- Providence moved to Tech Level 2
- Recusant moved to Starbase Level 2
CSA
- Recusant moved to Starbase Level 2
Hutt Empire
- Dor’bulla (Carrier) moved to Starbase Level 2
- Duran-Tan (Destroyer) moved to Starbase Level 2
- Chelandion (Capital) moved to Tech Level 2
Mandalorian Protectors
- Kandosii moved to Tech 2 (Also moved there for everyone else)
- Crusader moved to Tech 1
- StarViper moved to Tech 1
Hapes Consortium
- Battledragon moved to Tech 1
- Battledragon moved to Starbase Level 2

Saves should be fine but this is EAW and it hates people and loves to cause issues when there’s no reason to.

"ISD moved to Starbase level 3" does that mean that the AI needs a space colony level 3 or a ship manufacturing add on of level 3?

Seems like you haven't read my thread about bombardments. There not worth the price. First of all, regular bombardments cost 500 and often the bombers arrive too late to a hole bunch of units. And if use them against buildings, they don'T do that lot of damage.

Sadly you can't choose what type of bombardement you use. Like can't choose if its a skipray bombardement or a tie bomber one.

As you can probably tell, I'm suprised that bombardements got a debuff eventho I clearly statet my opinion about them.

The big turbolaser bombardement didn't even 1 shot the hapan tanks and cost 2k. I could have bought 20 anti tank turrets and they would have done a better job.

Minor factions dont use multi-level shipyards they only have 3 levels of the main starbase and 1 level of shipyard. So the ISD needs a Level 3 Starbase + Shipyard.

Recusant is still Tech 1 but it now requires Starbase level 2 and a shipyard so the CIS cant make them from a level 1 starbase and a shipyard anymore. ie: Less spamming and less of them early game.

Bombing Run and Orbital Bombardment are powers from the gods. Just falling from the sky without any way to counter play them since they arent units you can destroy before they launch their strike. The increase in their time is because people have complained that they keep getting wiped out or cant make defensive lines because the AI just constantly bombards and bombs them. So the Timer is now increased so it's not as spammable and dont impeded the player as much when faced with it.
That's my understanding of the reasoning from looking at the various chats about them on the discord. Kasderan handles all things ground.

If orbital bombardments really are powers from the gods, can you tell me why they can't 1 hit hapan tanks?
That the ai constantly bombards them is unfortunate. But I thought the planetary shield can help against it. Maybe a lot of players lost the shield.

The shield doesnt cover the entire map like before when bombardments were world ending things that you couldnt use until the battle ended. That has since changed to only cover the area around the base so that bombing runs and bombardments can actually be useful Offmap Support abilities all battle.

by "powers from the gods" i mean there's no counterplay. There's no unit above you that you can kill or outplay. It's just an immortal being striking down from above that you cant do anything about.

hey so i have a save issue where random saves most often the newest ones cause my game to crash and i play for a long time when i do play so this means i lose potentially hours of progress i was wondering if this issue has been fixed and on a side note has the consortium been nerfed because they seemed a bit overpowered to the point of obsurdity before my save corrupted (roughly 4 months ago)

No save corruption is not and can not be fixed without a totally new game. This is why every save related thing recommends saving often and always making new save files. That way you only lose a few minutes rather than hours when you overwrite one save over and over and it gets corrupted. The way saves work in this game has been so busted for years even after the game devs made patches specifically to fix it.
This update only changes what is above so there's no nerfs to the Criminal Underworld specifically this time. Check the other posts from the previous updates over the last 4 months.
