STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

Empire at War: Remake 4.0 – [OFFICIAL]
Perhaps something to do with the random game freezes?
I made it to week 429 before my GC froze. I saved and exited and when I did so, the game made an auto save. When I load my save, the game is still frozen, obviously. But when I load the auto save, the game loads a ground battle between two ai factions. I obviously can’t play anything during the ground battle, and auto-resolve and retreat are not permitted, no units spawn and the whole map is blurred by fog of war.

Could the galactic conquest freezes be related to AI battles?

Is there a way to auto resolve or force a retreat using the console?

Note: It ran fine until I advanced the tech level from 1 to 2 at like month 380.

The defenders are the criminal underworld. I don’t know who the attackers are.

Could there be a hero or unit type that tries to force the player into a ground battle?

The attacking faction is the Republic Hardliners and the the defenders are the Criminal Underworld. Here is a screenshot of the moment it froze.

According to previous reports that is very possible to be related to AI battles. "3 factions engaging in the same place" that is.
This basically lock you in current state, as you can do almost nothing to AI behaviors.
The only solution I came up with is to load a previous state, and launch a massive attack to the attacking faction in order to change its strategies.
Even solved by this way, this bug can still happen again. So make sure you save constantly to preserve your progress.

Yeah, and I did not do a lot of saves, so the campaign is bunk unfortunately. But could there be a way to bar any faction from moving a fleet to attack a planet that already has an inbound attacking fleet? I know there is a way to detect this, as there is an alert saying which planet has an inbound fleet. Could the problem be fixed by linking the two mechanics?

I'm not a skilled programmer and I've never made a game mod, but I do understand this mod's code is already spaghetti. Still, I love this mod and I want to help any way I can.
