Need help using the Rebellion or Imperials?
I've been playing this mod for a bit and loving every second of it. I'd like to think I know the Rebels and Imperials pretty well. If anyone needs help, I'm here to answer whatever questions players may have. Ask away!:steammocking:

Legend!
I have been playing for a few hours as imperials in the beginners map, but I keep losing to the rebels who take every system like instantly and can invade me before I get my economy up properly.
Any advice on how to get a good start as Imperials or how to get an upper hand?
Thanks m8!
Focus empires huge starting pot of cash on economy buildings on curasant system, endor sector and kuat system. Max up starbases on your flanks and choke points. Not all at once 2-4 build ques going at one time.
Abandon some of the outer territories even Kessel as they are untenable and surrounded by powerful rivals you will just be burning money on a fight you will eventually loose. That could be better used on the core worlds that are more lucrative anyway.
Sell buildings, space structures on worlds you want to abandon to generate some extra force before they get taken off you for no profit. Pool together the local starting garrison ships and ground forces when you are attacked, enter the battle and retreat at first chance they will fallback unharmed to nearest safe world, they can bypass hyperspace routes if the last world is taken and go back to Anaxus or something.
DONT GO ON THE OFFENSIVE until you have unlocked your economic potential and can replace losses reliably.

Defend Endor like your life depended on it its such a huge money maker
Lastly take your time, have fun, get used to everything it may take a few attempts to get it nailed down.

hope this helps

For the Empire, there is one unit that will be very helpful in the first part of the game. The ARC-170. Use them for defense and they can help put down most fleets in high numbers. The best way to get stronger with the Empire is to work on your defenses first. Take planets behind your border planets first to get the upper hand. Once you start getting more credits per day and a higher balance, then you can start pushing through harder areas and gaining better income. The Empire is very hard to use because they go through TIEs like no one's business. Start throwing shielded fighters and bombers into the mix and battles won't be as costly.

Oh it will I know so, thanks m8! Enjoy the points as well :)
What would you recommend for the rebellion? I cannot expand quickly it feels like, I'm having to take one system at a time securing each with lvl2 spacestations and fleets staying on top before I can go on the further offensive

For the Rebellion, their fighter and bomber squadrons are their greatest advantage. Build a few corvettes and frigates but spend most of your resources on sqaudrons. T-Wings are great for hitting hardpoints before the rest of the fleet get into range. Cutlass Bombers may be slow but they pack a nasty punch with their twin torpedo volleys. The Z-95s, both varients, are super good for multi roles.

At the start of the game, you should go after 2 specific areas. The Calamari sector and Bespin. Once you get them, you will notice a good increase in income and will be able to start branching out more. The Sith and Cooperate Sector Authority should be the first two factions you take out. Once you've wiped them out and claimed their sectors, you will then have enough credits and resources to start taking on the Empire.
What's the reasoning behind having an income penalty when a fleet is stationed over one of my own planets?
because certain ships like big frigates and all capital classes have upkeep costs, which logically has to come from somewhere. the trick is to invade an adjacent planet win the space battle and leave them in orbit then all the upkeep costs come from the enemy planet. keep your costs down and make the enemy pay for your ships 2 birds 1 stone.
it says in each ship description if they have upkeep and how much. this is also reflected if you hover over your planet income / expences breakdown number. it will say 'upkeep Victory x2 or Imperial I x1 - 750 credits
extra garrison forces created by you to guard frontier worlds should consist of ship that dont have upkeep, for obvious reasons lol

This is why getting good income is vital to winning the game.

Here's a little hint on how to get around this. I tend to keep at least one planet out of my control in my territory. This allows me to have fleets in orbit of planets without worrying about upkeep. It also keeps whatever enemy that owns the planet spiked down because they pay for your upkeep instead ;)
How do I make the MC-80 in GC? The begginer web to be precise.

You can't build Mon Cals until Tech level 2. Wingless first and then at Tech level 3, you can build the Liberty type. They have good weapons but can't solo a star destroyer. I always deploy at least 3 in my fleets to hold the line.
One important bit I'll add for playing as the Empire. The Gozanti groups are a must for every fleet you deploy. Send them out with your fighter squadrons and as soon as the fighters engage the enemy, start deploying the hull repair drones. This will keep your squadrons alive far longer and lower the attrition costs, which are very high with the Empire (Most TIEs lack shields and have weak armor).
I've been playing the mod and its super fun but I've been having some troubles with rebel ground forces I can take worlds in space battles but not ground battles some tips would be nice thanks

Ground battles are pretty straightforward. For starters, never deploy all heavy or medium armor troops. Mix the classes up a bit, so you have a better response and more options for offense and defense. Having fighters to scout and pick off small units is great. Have a decent amount of credits saved for Bombing runs and orbital bombardments.
