ISD Targeting bugged
Started a new campaign from after the 64 bit update, fresh install, no old saves, clean start.

However, most ISD models (ISD 1, Procusator, for sure) seem to have bugged targeting, either only firing at point blank range, or trying to do 360 degree turns to "target" (and failing halfway through, and then trying to return in a random direction.) Only sometimes do they target when facing broadside, rarely at max range, usually only at laser cannon ranges, sometimes they fire at strange angles only, sometimes not at all.

I know it's not just me being a poor player (using them facing straight on, instead of broadside, for example), because the Vader ISD (Devastator) is working properly, firing whenever the target enters the max range within a proper firing arc. This is the first time I've encountered this issue, so that makes me think it's related to a "fix" within the 64 bit patch, but who knows, I haven't played in a few months.

Yup! I also have this bug it seems that my ISD have less range then the enemy ISD's which is sometimes frustrating. Also they sometimes jiggle and weirdly change their position in seconds.

Quick update: This appears to be related to the Venator submod for Remake 4.0. Ironically, Venators seem to work as intended, with or without the mod, but it breaks ISDs. At least when I fired up a new game and used the ISD 1 given default to the Empire, it worked perfectly (unlike when the mod is used.) More testing needed.

It sounds like your issue is more minor. The issue I'm describing basically makes an ISD entirely worthless, it fires about 1-5% of its time with enemies in range.

I don't use other mods, but I have a similar problem. Did you manage to solve it somehow?

In my case, it was all the fault of a lover of listening to the stories about Darth Plagueis. After digging through the xml files, I found out that Bucket Head cuts the range of all capitals by 50%. Instead of the base 3500, the ISD had a range of 1750! Hence the reluctance to shoot at ships and structures, as well as strange maneuvers. I assume that there are other admirals who have the same debuff. I removed this debuff from Vader and my ships became combat-ready.
