STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

Empire at War: Remake 4.0 – [OFFICIAL]
Please Clarify 5.0 thats subbable RN in Workshop Legit or not?
Is it legit or a leak from a buthurt dev or intern ??? I see nothing in discussion that pin points that with a time stamp and while I do see the Header on this mod change from the grand update to OFFICIAL Id appreciate if you could dumb it down for me and speak in bread sandwich terms

This is official, that one is a dev build with loads of other random stuff thrown in that doesnt work or half baked because it was never playtested. When actual 5.0 launches most of the broken bloat modes in that wont be in it and the units that will exist will actually be designed for 5.0.

Better to ignore it really
Another thing the page brings up is that the dev team has disbanded, is this true?

Kinda. 3 left in short order a year ago(including myself), another was a new add and didnt stick around for than like 5 months or so, the leaker and Jeroen were all that was REALLY left aside from the minor people with their own projects who just helped from time to time.
The leaker was someone who basically everyone on the team had issues with who was doing a load of his own submod stuff in the main files for several years and changing ♥♥♥♥ from others parts of the project. With him gone one of the old team members who never really left but always kinda rage ghosted for months when he'd find his work changed, has now kinda come back so it's Jeroen and them now plus the side help.
So no the narrative painted by the page is wrong. Even after the collective EAW modding community admonished him nothing has changed on that page.
Can you take his mod down for posting your guys code? or is it just not worth it and as you stated before just better to ignore it.

Steam is steam so not really any enforcement exists. Better to ignore it

Please tell me the blurb about the regiment system is nonsense. I actually genuinely enjoy it as is

What blurb?

I think hes referring to the unofficial 5.0 release's description mentioning that the regiment system was removed in favor of using the base games ground combat system where people are able to pick and choose which individual units they want to produce instead of having them deploy in regiments

Yeah but no idea how any of that works. Ground guy left basically when Ground was done and yes it was changed to single units but still vastly different from vanilla in playstyle, pop, capture points ect. Right after he left most of the team started just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on his work and planned to gut it (They were also told to do so by the dev after some other drama). No idea what all actually got worked on from there other than the guy who was taking that over then quit a month later. I was gone by then and have not looked at how they have things since.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. The regiments system was an interesting idea but going with an improved single units style definitely seems like the right idea. I guess it will be a surprise for everyone with however it turns out hopefully its an improvement. From the little I played of the buggy mess that is the unofficial 5.0 release the single unit system felt pretty good and a side note (not sure who worked on the imperial LAAT gunship but that thing is beautiful). Not sure if its anything to base what the official release of 5.0 will be like but regardless im looking forward to see what the team comes up with.

I believe I can attest to that it is not a official release as well. I posted about on the "5.0" forum asking how to upgrade heroes because I cannot get it to work. No attention was given to it by anyone until another player mentioned that he is having the same problem. Since then I have learned that it is "unofficial" and replied that it is considerably a development build released, that there are bugs and our shared issue must have been one of them. It did not take long for the "developer" to reply.
