hotbars resetting to 1 on respawn

Dying and respawning in simple bed or sleeping bag ingame resets the hotbars to your base hotbar (first one before any added new ones) and I lose my entire layout!
Is this intentional? Did I miss an .ini setting in the description? Patch this out, please!

- Loadouts are lost upon death. I have a fix in mind but it will take time to implement.

This is listed under current known issues...on main page
