I also thought about that. However, it will be very hard to implement and balance opinion modifiers, and I am the only developer of this mod. I will be focusing on ruler's traits, and let other people make mods like Dei Gratia.
Still, 0.5 version (which I will publish tomorrow) adds about 3 traits, that lowers papal influence, and I hope it will somehow help in excommunicating heretic bastards you hate with zeal)
Added some opinion modifiers with Papal State. My bad, it wasn't so difficult)
thx for reply!
I am working on nerfing and balancing modifiers, though it is hard with my maximalism)
Theres only one thing which i dont like and thats the celibacy trait (decreases chance of heir by 10000%(?) and adds some positive papal stuff). This popped for me twice in a row and each time my heir randomly died some years later. The first time i was saved by the alexander/caesar/solomon event, the second time i got thrown into a PU under France which was my big blue friend (me as bavaria) and now screws me over with no way out.
I get how that is historical and could add to the game, but with the way PUs are right now it can basically end a game in a very frustrating manner (except you enjoy playing under a PU ;)). Some way to weaken this event would be great imho. Maybe reduce the chance of it happening or whatever.
On a side note: What influences the chance of an heir to die randomly?
Hey, man!
As for me, I am always lisp)
Yeah, I've already thought about these events from CK2, adding them is the next logical step. It is just that I was really tired of modding, while EU4 is nowhere near what I want it to be, especially the battle system. Also, I wanted RT to work in synergy with MEIOU, and MEIOU now is a raw piece of lag, so I shouldn't have waited for it).
@sethco
If devs will add ruler_age trigger in 1.3, I will add a generic event which will let you adopt a heir. It will fire for any heirless monarch with a very small chances, but chances will increase with the age of the ruler and greatly increase with Celibacy trait.
Chance of an heir to die is mostly hard-coded, altering it will need changing defines.lua file, which I won't do ( it will cause incompability with any other mod changing that file). So, as for now, your heir won't die randomly until his 20s and the chance of death increases with age.
I just want to start out by saying that I really enjoy your mod because of the uniqueness in game experience it brings to the player!
I do have one issue I'm trying to resolve at the moment though and I was hoping you could provide some guidance:
I originally downloaded Ruler Traits v0.59 and was playing an awesome game with that.
When the Ruler Traits v0.6a update was released, it downloaded automatically and I was still able to play the game and everything appeared to be working fine. Then the game crashed at 1438 and I can no longer pull the saved game because it says I'm missing "Ruler Traits v0.59". I've tried reinstalling, switiching on and off the mod and nothing appears to be working. I've looked online for answers, but it appears that no one else is having this issue. Am I doing something wrong? Do you have any recommendations?
Try downloading 0.59, maybe it will solve the issue

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and downloaded v0.59, but I'm not sure exactly where I need to place it. I've tried the following:
Steam>Steamapps>common>Europa Universalis IV
and
Steam>Steamapps>common>Europa Universalis IV>mod
Neither of which worked out for me. Am I on the right path?
I then tried placing each of the files in the corresponding folders and that didn't resolve anything. I figured I would stop and simply ask, before I casuse some damage on my end.
If you don't mind, would you please show me the correct downloading path?
There you will find all your other mods and their .mod files, so you will understand the pattern.
Please, tell me afterwards whether it helped!
At the current moment in my Europa Universalis IV mod folder I have one folder that is labeled "education" and another folder labeled "education_0.59" with one MPEG labeled "education". I was thinking perhaps I should try manually combining the "education_0.59" folder into the "education" folder and placing the files appropriately, or is that not a good idea?
At this point I guess I really don't care if I have to lose my saved game, despite the fact that it was one of those games where it seemed like the stars and planets where aligned perfectly. I simply don't wan't this issue to arise again if I start another game using this awesome mod.
