Specalty NPCs and profession station (bug?)
I assume the special NPCs are used with the professional station.... but whenever I try to buy the special NPCs.... it eats my 500 gold.... I assume this is a bug? Or can someone help me out with whatever I'm doing wrong? I guess its possible that I have too many NPCs so I need to fire one first... but that's another 500 gold to test.

same was happening to me

Tried different specialty npcs and same result. -500g & no NPC.

Still nothing? just attempted to buy a carpenter and now i'm -500 gold and no carpenter.
After the 5th attempt, great success! LOL

Same here multiple purchase attempts lost gold not even a 5g pleb.

I bought an armorsmith fine, but tried to buy a cook later and nothing, but also, my other npcs, shipcrew poofed when I bought 6 more, so maybe try another freeport
