Research bug
With this patch loaded (Only CE / VWE and CE Patch was loaded), the research of "Tactical Grenades", "Specialized firearms", "Marksman rifle", "Orbital Support" and "Laser targeting systems" are unable to be researched even with all required researches/benches etc. already aquired. The problem can be somehow solved by disabling patch -> researching these 5 things -> then loading patch again.

I am experiencing this issue as well right now.

Also the tech 'Simple Launchers' seems to not unlock anything in my current game. All the basic grenade launchers are unlocked by the 'Heavy Weapons' tech. I'm not sure it's directly related to this patch or not.

Disabling the CE patch definitely allows the techs to be researched.

Alright guys thanks for making this thread it's easier to keep track and i'll investigate this. As i said on the VWE page i dont have any trouble with the research but i'll still investigate,

Anything I can provide that will help you? logs, modlists? Load orders?

I can make another log with less mods enabled if you prefer.
I figured out the issue HeavyTurrets research doesn't exist so @Andross would have to reference CE_HeavyTurret and not HeavyTurrets

@Andross is there a repo for this patch, I can make a pull request.

Hey, guys. My friend got the same problem (unavailable research tactical grenades)
Fixed by changing label <requiredResearchBuilding>
in file /Defs/ResearchProjectDefs/ResearchProjects_Various.xml
old contain: TableMachining
'fixing' contain: HiTechResearchBench

original modification really requires HiTech-la-la-la, but fix replaces string with TableMachining, thats the difference
