Adjust Pathfinding
Segmentlength depending on traffic workload and resized by simulationloop
Would it be possible to let the tool automatically recalculate a new length for segments depending on the workload of the segment and put this method into the simulationloop? Or, if the answer is no because performance.., at least build a list with "red" and "yellow" segments like every X seconds and then calculate and write once every X seconds?

I think it would be possible, but the hard thing is to guess the constants right.
Which values do you use for which load?
Anyway, I can't promise anything now but it is a good idea.
I just saw this thread and I think the idea is great too.
Whenever a segement is occupied by a vehicel, a value should be added to the "segement length". So the route-engine would try other routes during traffic-jams :-)
btw: segment occupied means "occupied in one direction" :-)

Came here to comment this same exact idea. I would be ***thrilled*** with this kind of change. It would completely REDEFINE the game's traffic problems and how I would approach network planning. It would make this a 100% required upgrade to the base experience.
