"Some models only support DirectX9+ If you have anything lower than that, the models will become invisible. I recommend to stop using computers from 15 years ago. You could attempt to fix it by setting the following command in your console: mat_dxlevel 90"
It's highly likely that the models are only supported by DirectX9+
I don't think the Salmonids (or any VJ entities) are affected by the no collide option that's part of NPC Spawn Platforms, but I usually just use the classic VJ Spawner for NPC Battles.
