Let's revamp Mario
This mod may be a really fun and popular mod, the unfortunate part is that this character has not been updated in a while and lacks some of the more "mario" aspects that even the smash moveset is currently missing; inspired by the kirby moveset being different from the smash one I want to create this discussion to hear what the ideas the workshop community can offer to help the creator of this incredible mod to make it the best this mod can ever be.

it sounds good since the person who was working on this mario seems to have dropped or halted this project. you would just need to find someone who can add more sprites because it looks like the sprite sheet is missing a back air

i suggest getting rid of the side b and replacing it with something else. the reflect when grounded since the cape comes out slower than parries. i like the idea of replacing the side b with cappy and making mario a more unique aether character.

i was thinking cappy would be a simple move but with lots of potential. mario throws out cappy with his side b, and it will stay in place. pressing side b again will make cappy return to mario. the initial animation frames when cappy is thrown out can reflect projectiles. recalling cappy back doesnt require doing an animation, so it can be used in comboing.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to work on this mod. For the moveset, yeah, add cappy seems a good idea, but I don't think that the moveset will be changed, because I want this mario similar to the smash counterpart. If from the beginning I had different sprite, the moveset might have been different from this.

I personally believe mario just needs to be sped up. He is really slow. moves come out LATE af

you should give him a cappy hat spin throw added to his normal spin, you should be able to hold cappy in place to jump off of it, good for spacing and it acts as a very brif command grab where mario disapeers, ala becoming the other character and the grab toss animations are the other charachters jump

also Id change his down B to using yoshi, if he has yoshi he can jump off of her to get an extra jump but once he loses her, she is gone till he is ko
