Simple feedback on the guns!
Hey, Delta! Hey, everyone!

First, I'm going to start with a note about what the heck I'm doing with this discussion. It's simple. Instead of plastering a huge comment on EVERY SINGLE ADDON Delta makes, I"m just going to write my feedback here. Personally, I recommend others do the same, so that Delta doesn't have to scour the comments for feedback, but I'm just a guy behind a screen. You don't have to take orders from me. (just like how we don't have to take orders from Zavala.)

Second, a general feedback about the guns. As of this writing, Delta has released the following guns:
  • Outbreak Perfected
  • Polaris Lance
  • Ace of Spades
  • Last Word
  • Thorn
  • Revoker
  • The Recluse
  • SUROS Regime
  • One Thousand Voices
  • IKELOS_SG_V1.0.1. (IKELOS Shogtun, for those of you who don't speak Warmind.)
  • Sleeper Simulant (IKELOS_LFR_V1.0.1.)
  • Gjallarhorn
  • and Hammerhead.

Those are the guns currently in Delta's showcase, and from the collection wallpaper, I suspect he'll be adding in
  • Whisper of the Worm
  • Legend of Acrius
  • Austringer
  • possibly Sunshot? There's a model in the workshop for it, so it wouldn't be difficult, just add in a small code that turns the bullets into SMG grenades, or explosive ammo.

But right now, I'll give feedback on some of the guns that are currently released, starting with the Ace of Spades.

Ace of Spades is an iconic hand cannon, and Delta has done it justice to say the least. He did what Bungo should've and gave Ace the Last Word-style ready animation, making Ace more of a gun that Cayde-6 wielded, and not some gun with a flashy reload. The only bad feedback I can possibly give is this: increase the damage, as to replicate Memento Mori, and slightly increase the reload speed to replicate a Firefly reload. Be careful on the second bit, as too fast a reload will take away from the top-notch animation that he put together for the reload (seriously, kudos on that.) That's it! That's the only feedback I have for Ace of Spades. I'm not going to give you crap over headshot explosions, because those take a lot more coding, and its both hard to code that, and my laptop can only cry so much before it runs out of tears.

The IKELOS Shotgun is really easy, and its just a base increase to damage, and maybe the ability to harm things like Striders and APCs? That's all, really. A good mod!

For Revoker, I'd make the zoom magnification a little lower, to the point where its hitting 3.5x, so that you have good peripheral vision while maintaining precision, but hey, can't have everything. I don't even use Revoker much anyways with how GMod combat works.

That's... pretty much it. Got the feedback done, got the reason for this discussion page done...

Yeah. I love the mods! Keep doing what you're doing, and I look forward to your next release, Delta!

I mentioned this before, There is an addon on the workshop that allows you to modify weapons damage outputs, clip sizes and ammo count.

Updating the list! Here are some weapons that were spotted in Delta's spawnmenu during his video for Austringer!
  • Chattering Bone
  • Legend of Acrius
  • Luna's Howl
  • Not Forgotten
  • Mountaintop
  • Randy's Throwing Knife
I'll keep this list updated anytime I spot anything!!!

I plan on releasing a pinnacle weapons pack, just gotta finish my Redrix quest so I can get it in game to get the sounds and stuff

Sweet!

I just downloaded and gave some gameplay with your 'Crucible Pinnacles' pack, and I've got to say - I'm loving it. The Mountaintop is quite useful, but I can't give much feedback on it, since I don't have it in D2 (yet) and I've got to testify that the only real Crucible Pinnacle I have is the Recluse (cuz I'm a PvE kind of guy.) But Instead, I'll give feedback on the updates to the OLD(er) guns Delta has released. First up is my baby!
  • Ace of Spades - The Last Hand ornament is DOPE, thanks for putting it in! I really love swapping between the regular ornament and the Last Hand to give the Ace a sort of A N G E R Y mode.
  • MIDA Multi-Tool - A very good replica of the gun from the game! The only problem is really with Bungie - the MIDA's biggest perk was that it would grant a boost to your mobility, but in GMod's LUA, you can really only go so fast without using a vehicle, sooooooooo...
  • ALL THE ORNAMENTS - the guns are doing fantastically - I just wish that Ace could be made into a better replica, but obviously, GMod and D2 have different engines, so I'm not sure that a full replica is even possible. The only (minor) request is that you manage to get the Crucible Metallic shader for the Recluse, but hey, I'm not your boss, and I'm not paying money, so you don't HAVE to do jack. And I'm okay with that.

So you do you, and don't let anyone stop you.

ANOTHER LIST UPDATE!!
The following weapons have been added to the collection wallpaper:
  • HAWKMOON
  • Nation of Beasts
  • Chattering Bone
  • Jade Rabbit
  • Legend of Acrius
Hawkmoon is going to have a lot of hype around it, and will probably be a great addon to have. Delta deserves a lot of kudos here for even making an attempt at Hawkmoon. As the fanbase's arguably favorite exotic from D1, this gun has a lot of history and a lot of potential. I'm impressed he even has a model.
As for Nation of Beasts and Chattering Bone, these guns are quite simple. As a random drop from the Last Wish raid, you can't make a GMod port of them with designated perks, but you can drop the weapons as base guns, and make the argument that the player downloaded a drop with something silly like Dynamic Sway reduction and Derple-tap as a roll. No need to simulate Dragonfly or Outlaw or anything like that.
As for Legend of Acrius, that gun will be something of a challenge, and the audience should be prepared to give Delta the benefits of second or third chances to get the gun right, as Acrius deals quite a lot of damage and has bulky handling characteristics. Its a big [beep]ing shotgun, and has a lot of range, but its choke is quite poor, leading your pellets to go in many directions, but with a long period of time before damage falloff occurs.
Jade Rabbit is another tough bag, and I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if the initial release appears to be a slower-firing, harder-hitting scout rifle without perks (think about Randy's Throwing Knife). Jade Rabbit (for those who are unfamiliar) is a re-skinned version of the all-time rarest D1 Exotic, Fate of All Fools. Fate of All Fools was a single-copy exotic scout rifle that resembled the "Stranger's Rifle." This Exotic was given by Bungie themselves to only ONE player, who sent them a heart-touching tweet regarding their game and his case of cancer. The gun was later re-skinned as the Jade Rabbit, but the Fate of All Fools remains, having its new furry friend live on as a working memorial to the player who uses the gun. It's exotic perk will be hard for Delta to recreate, as it is triggered by varying combinations of bodyshots and headshots.

To sum up: Good luck, Delta, and eyes up, Guardian.

I am encountering a case of opaque scopes on weapons with scopes

Try going into TFA options and turning off 3D scopes. It may solve.

Hey @Delta ! And everyone else who reads these little posts!

I've been taking in these addons for a while and I've got to say that I'm impressed. I truly am. Not only are these addons continuously super high-quality, but there's quite a lot of them! Of course, I have some feedback.

First, I'm going to briefly discuss Thunderlord. For those of you who are somehow unaware, Thunderlord's exotic perk in D1 is entirely reflected here in GMod. As you held the trigger down, the rate of fire and accuracy would both increase. In D2, this got a weird change, and kills with Thunderlord would cause enemy damaging lightning strikes. The strikes could also be caused by consistent damage on a single enemy, and could chain lightning strikes through enemies.

I've only got a single problem with this Thunderlord in GMod - I can't use it! My PC is so crummy and slow that the action of firing the gun actually causes GMod to crash because my computer cannot render the environment/weapon/character/entites, run the code for basic firing, run the LUA for the rate of fire increase, AND perform a hit scan/registration. I simply cannot shoot the gun without crashing GMod.

As for the other weapons, I have yet to try out Prometheus Lens, but D.A.R.C.I. is pretty cool. The ability to display GMod critical info within the scope of a gun that can delet someone from 1000+ meters away? Before Delta did it, I thought that the GMod engine couldn't perform such an action.

If there's one thing I've learned from Delta's addons - its that some clever coding and hard work can replicate even the most complicated of scripts. I never thought that GMod could script a gun that fires hitscan nanites that trigger a damage-over-time effect. I never thought that GMod could make Ace of Spades or Last Word look so damn good - and I'm not on some 4k monitor, either!!

And still, we have no idea what else Delta has in store for later! However, there are still some clues that we've spotted! Here's the ones we know:
  • Hawkmoon
  • Nation of Beasts
  • Legend of Acrius
It's not your PC's fault for the Thunderlord thing, everyone was having issues with it, even with rigs that can run destiny 2 itself on maxed settings. It was fixed recently, try reinstalling the addon

make the cabal rifle
I'm having a problem where TFA weapons make my fps drop over time, any suggestions?
Dead-Eye Devil 24 Feb, 2020 @ 8:04am
I would tell you to use a GMod FPS booster, or turn various effects off. Things like M9K gas effects and muzzle flashes really slow down fps. However, some things are slowed down by the fact that the TFA base is constantly doing some things in the background as you play, and GMod is also auto-refreshing your LUA. Some fps drops are unavoidable.
