Shields - Difference Between different types
Has anyone figured out exactly how the different types of shields affect your fleets? Deflector, Covariant, Regenerative and Resilient are the main types I believe. Is there a list of the strengths vs weakness of these and how effective they are against different weapons?

Well, unfortunately we can't have resistances against specific weapon types, so they only differentiate by capacity, regeneration and resilience.
Yes, those are the 3 types, but I guess my question is more about which of those 3 attributes is best? Or, which pairs best with certain hull types? There several kinds of tech for ship hulls, heavy, crystal lattice, stealth as well as ablative and dispersive amour. So what are the best pairings? Is it better to go with shields that regenerate faster while having heavier hull plating to compensate? Or maybe its better to pair crystal lattice with resilient shields? Anyone have any analysis or numbers on this things?

It'll be situational I guess. We don't really plan for any *one* set to be better, but to allow for emergent optimisation based on who you're fighting against.
Ok, so what shields are better for fighting against what? Are covariant better against the Klingons but resilient better against the Romulans? Is there some kind of metric to figure out which shields to use?
