I had 2 survivors in my group before i logged off yesterday. I saved a backup of my savefile because I wanted to remove a mod which I think has been causing problems.

Anyway, reloaded my save and the npcs were gone. The savefile still has the exact same name.

When selecting 'choose player 1.' (on the load selection screen; the area where you can change ur mods) I can see both of my survivors as select-able players.

I can play as my npc survivors but they seem to be in a location I had previously raided before I logged off for the night(like really far away from where I logged off.)

For more clarity,
I took them to a train station, and it seems the game saved the survivors location at the train station BUT at different save times. NPC (A) saved location is at the south(were I slept on the ground), NPC (B) saved location is at the north(where I slept in a van.) Both are in different locations that we had visited last night.

Anyway, both of them are no longer in my group and I have no idea how to add them back. They will probably be gone by the time I drive all the way back to where they are.

Walking them to my base doesn't work because they are invisible once I get on my main character.



It seems they are being treated as playable characters now and taken out of the world when I load in.
