Hey man, a lot of us who fot the game thru GOG cannot use steam workshop, why not keep posting the updates on Nexus too ? for the rest of us. :)

Try this: {LINK REMOVED}

The modding EULA on the Workshop prevents me from uploading anywhere else.

There are many other mods, that are both on workshop and nexus. But if you are excluding GOG users from your mod, I would take it down from the workshop. Installing mods for gladius is so easy, the workshop is unnecessary. And some other mods, like the faction mods, don't work with the workshop at all.

Just because others are breaking the EULA doesn't mean I will, sorry. The Workshop yields more than 10x the exposure the Nexus does for my work, I can't ignore that. On the Nexus I was getting no more than 2-3 downloads a day, on the Workshop I get around 30-40. I only get those numbers on the Nexus right after a faction DLC.

The EULA on steam workshop is a despicable business practice used to remove competition, its also anti content creator, similar to the Blizzard w3 reforged updated terms of service.

It basically exists to force people into buying from steam only, if they want mods. It kills off other modding platforms as well as other distribution platforms.

Why you would choose to support such a ugly business model is strange and very head scratching.

The small amount of exposure the Nexus offers is not adequate for hundreds of hours of work and hundreds (might be a thousand by now) of dollars of investment, sorry. I don't have that kind of dedication.

Im not saying to stop posting on workshop, Im saying post on Nexus too, if its exposure you want. Both will give you more then doing just 1.
Plus you dont support a greedy mega corporation like steam and people who didnt buy from steam get to play the mods u make.
Win win rly, only steam greed looses.
I've got the game on GOG :( Is there any possibility you could post the mod on Nexus too, please? :(

Sorry, I won't break Slitherine's modding EULA.
ArcaniteM 21 May, 2020 @ 7:23pm
Slitherine doesnt have a modding EULA that stops you from uploading to places outside of steam workshop ......................................................... ?!?

It doesnt restrict you from updating to other places. This mod was originally on Nexus too, so I dont see whats the fuss to just upload it at 2 places.

I haven't read the EULA since it was originally drafted and that was a clause back then. However, I am certain that once the content has been uploaded to the Workshop it is property of Slitherine and GW. I can not distribute their property.

Nothing in the EULA forbids you from uploading outside steam workshop.

You are "distributing" voice lines recorded by you. You arent using in-game models for anything external. So what you are saying makes no sense.

To me at least it seems you are trying to throw what ever excuse to not upload for none-steam players. Maybe you are getting steam money on the side to promote their platform and punish none-steam users. Who knows...

Steam giving me money is a laughable idea.
