Swarmers are not firing for any of the modes I have (click to fire, shoot on, and shoot once). They seem to have a mind of it's own as to when it fires

I am on Singleplayer

same for me... they wont fire if I build blocks around it... I dont know what to do

Had a similar issue with the Swarmers myself. After some testing, I found that their front (one of the long sides) can't be completely covered. Specifically the two middle blocks. If you place a full block over them, they won't fire, but if you place a partial block (like a slab) or leave those spaces empty, they'll work. Guessing the weapon draws line of sight from there, and if it's blocked it just won't fire.
