Low FPS issue
At first I was very delighted when Old Man was finally realased, but my excitement quickly faded away when I realised, that it is designed as a single mission on Tanoa. I was hoping for campaign free roam like in the east wind, that would surely gave us few more fps.

I don not think I will be getting better CPU any time soon, so I think there is no way around.

Such a shame.

AMD A10-7800 Radeon R7, - 3.5 GHz
8.0 GB of ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745
Also withou SSD

It runs horribly, but as I love this game so much I think I will invest in better components.

Turn off PIP.

Turn Shadows off / set them to low.

Turn View Distance down to acceptable amounts (1200 - 1800m).

That did it for me atleast. Hope it helps.

i-7 3770k @ 4.0GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Installed on a fast HDD with Windows on an SSD

Mission runs like ass. I think there's a ton of redundant or looping scripts, I see a lot of repeating errors in the logs. I really, really want to enjoy this mission, but putting my settings to low for one mission, fast-travel being broken, being able to just fly through checkpoints, and a lot of other issues is really killing the fun for me.

You suggest it's because of my graphic card? I thought this game is heavy on CPU.

I bet you can dump $1500 and wait for next generation hardware, and it will still run at sub optimal frame rate in this scenario, especially in towns. And it's not like this is some sort of massive scale scneario. Mostly it's just a dozen guys with guns, at short to very short distances, on one of the smaller maps in ARMA, without much diversity in terms of gameplay.

I've dropped to 18 FPS with a OC'd 1080 and a 4GHz i7 hex core, although I generally get around 30 FPS. Even with all cores forced to 'unparked' and 'turbo'.

Single player in official missions I am always above 60 FPS.

Changing graphics settings makes very little difference...low spec to high spec is about a 2-5 FPS difference at best, usually can't tell any difference.

Draw distance also make almost no difference unless I go something crazy like 10000 view and object.

I pretty much just assumed there is a lot of AI and scripting going on in the background.

Wish it was better for sure but still fun so far.
