Mystery of Ravenholm Walkthrough (Warning: Contains Spoilers!)

I designed the Ravenholm Mystery as a riddle for players who have played through the map several times. Therefore I will try to remain as indistinct as possible and still give some helpful information if someone feels stucked with the questline.

Walkthrough
Early in the game, you will receive a message that something strange seems to be happening at Ravenholm. Ravenholm is located on an island in the north of the dead swamps, respective south from Elizabeths Starting location.

During the exploration of Ravenholm, you might find a pergament, painted with sympols of an unknown language. Before you can continue with the quest, you need to find someone who can translate this mysterious message.

There are three options to achieve this. It is well known that the elves possess ancient scrolls, so exploring their island might be useful. Another option would be to ask the magicians about their knowledge .While most of them died in the recent civil war, there is at least one experienced magician who has stayed out of the fighting. He seems to be interested in trading in elemental beings and artifacts rather than war. In addition, taverns are known to be a good place to hire mercenaries or assassins. Some say that experts for every task can be found there.

After the message has been deciphered, you will find out which items you need to collect.
To avoid misunderstandings at this point, it might be important to note that no "real" items need to be collected for the quest, only certain locations have to be visited.

Spring water from a mirror pond:
In the melting pot tavern, a half-thirsty vagabond once said that he had seen the flickering reflection of distant places above the dunes of the great desert. To quench his thirst, he had drunk a lot of mushroom beer at this point, so it is unclear how much his story is worth.

The hair of an ancient giant:
In one of his unpublished works, Ham the Wanderer tells of a secret gathering place for the giants that is said to be hidden deep in the mountains. The oldest of the giants are said to be found there. Some also believe that these mountains were the ancient giants themselves before they turned to stone.

The soul splinter of a virgin:
The art of making soul fragments is said to have been taught at the school of the great magician Bariclar. However, this dark knowledge was imparted to only a few of his students.

A piece of life essence: It is said that the Allfather's power to create new life was once given to the elf Marisha. However, she left the Elven Islands a long time ago and has not been seen since. Maybe it might be worth looking for her - or her grave.

Witch each of these items, you can activate the teleports below ravenholm. There is also a last, fith item needed - the blood of a true hero. But what to worry about, there will certainly be a solution for that ...

OMG I guessed that this was not a simple quest, but I didn’t suspect that it was so) and thought that it was necessary to collect items. Near the city of the Giants, the entrance to the caves does not work, should it be so?)

... as I said before, these cave entrances are my nemesis. However, this should be fixed in the latest version of the map.

The giants and the lake in the desert were found without problems, but I can’t imagine what kind of student we are talking about, maybe the Soul Collector? Impressed Marisha, not on the Elven lands? I thought about Storm Peak, but so far only the first 2 teleporters have opened, only elves of the opponents remained. And what kind of suepr is the character in the center of the dungeons, level 50?

@aleksrusakov: Thanks for your ongoing interest in the mod :) You can find out some facts about Marisha while playing Lissandra. One of her dialoges indicates that Marisha left the elven island eons ago and did never return. Marisha's story is indeed linked with Stormpeak, but you won*t find what you are searching there. Look out for a place full of life in an unlikely location. If one thing can be learned from the dark elves rebellion, than that elves that seek death like to go underground.

I understood your hint, but one of the heroes is already riding my horse Marisha (Marishas Legacy), but the portal did not open) and I went through the script for the Elves first, and then I did not really read the story. I read a lot when I played as a Necromancer, his story and references to the past pleased him. Thank you very much for the interesting script and answers)

when he passed for the elves, the first time, and killed Zarzisskh, the invasion of dragons, after, I remember caused a "stormy" delight)))

maybe the hero on the horse should go to the teleport to turn it on?
and which Barlacar’s student are you talking about? apparently he had a lot of them, on the map a hero of pieces 5

The four portals are separately activated. The the third teleporter will become active after you
have found the soul splinter; the life essence activates the fourth one. This might explain your confusion :) You can find a list of Bariclar's students at the abandoned mage school. If you met and defeated them before obtaining the ravenholm quest, try revisiting their former residence.

So if none of the items are required, why are some, like Lothars Head, not sellable

It was a conscious design decision. None of the unique items is salable. I wanted to prevent players from being able to sell their items in a hopeless situation and thus prevent the enemy from getting these items.
