Additional aircraft support
Please post here to request support for additional aircraft. I'll try to incorporate any that are reasonable.

Please note: I can incorporate any boat or aircraft into my mod without REQUIRING that addon - I just use classnames.

With this in mind, I'd like to incorporate as many reasonable additions as possible, so keep 'em coming!

If anyone wants to help me get a head start on adding more aircraft:
  1. Place the new helicopter down in the editor (while running Helocast)
  2. In the debug console, type: [0,0,0] call fatLurch_fnc_testBoat;
  3. You should see a "Flight Test Orange" boat appear
  4. The numeric array in the command is the boat offset. Keep adjusting these numbers and running the command above to get the boat where you want relative to the aircraft
  5. Alt-tab out of Arma 3 and paste the results. You should see a coordinate array and the helicopter classname (e.g. [0,1,-1.5] heloName)
  6. Paste the results and a link to the addon. I'll still need to manually pluck out the animation names for the doors or ramps if needed, but passing me the coordinates and classname helps give me a head start

can you add support for the OPTRE Pelicans? possibly make it a compatability patch labeled submod that requires this one?

I'll get it incorporated. The good news is my addon can add compatibility with other addons without requiring them.

I should be able to do that. I'm waiting on a mobo warranty claim before I can get to this. For my edification: do you have any video or images of this with the Mi-8?

DruidicRifleman: I'm trying to get the Mi-8 working but I'm having issues with the helo and boat models colliding which send the boat down into the water at about Mach 3...

Hi! I have a nifty little mod which I plan to add a rather large tandem rotor helicopter into. I have a placeholder model which is flying in game pretty well, but I have run into problems with this and other aircraft exploding when touching the water. If there's a fix I hope it might apply to sea-going airplanes, too. I've looked at some D.Sabre sea-planes that I knew could taxi on water (at one point) for some answers, but in my most recent observations they are now exploding as well. I guess the engine updates over the years have not been kind to water-going aircraft.

Is there a particular setting you know of that might make these aircraft more resilient to waves and/or floating?

BTW, I asked a similar question on this mod's thread in the BI forums, so your kind reply on either is much appreciated. :-)

Hi Rooster. I dont remember the exact parameter but I remember it involves the word water or leakiness. If you look at BIS's cfgVehcile reference and ctrl+F for "water" it should show up. I had messed with this parameter on the RHS CH-47 to get it to float longer. You may want to study the RHS CH-47s configuration as I think it's setup to do what you're looking for.

Rgr rgr. I'm familiar with this parameter for boats and APCs. Now I'm thinking it might be a speed+leakiness/waterdamage problem, since a helicopter can set down in water at 0 kph, but a plane must land at about 60 to 120 kph.

Hello Fat_Lurch. As a small navy seal like playing group we use most of your mods all the time. Unfortunately the choppers we use can not be used with the helocast mod. they belong to the TMTv0.8.5 mod .İt is a turkish military mod. Although we use the same choppers like chinook and the black hawk this mod is only satisfying with the quantity of its content and not the quality of it..so here are the classnames; "TMT_CH47F";
"TMT_S70_KKK_mg";
"TMT_S70_KKK_unarmed";
"TMT_S70_OKK_mg";
"TMT_S70_OKK_unarmed";

I am planning on supporting this. Right now the aircraft sits too low for the boat to work because the landing gear is misconfigured. Once its fixed I'll be adding this.
