Lastest mod update crashes pre-patch game version
Hi, I haven't yet updated the game for the Mar 2023 patch, I'm still using build 35049 until some things are sorted out. At the game main menu when I go to click on Load Game, it crashes to desktop with an error for your mod. I see in your change notes that the mod was updated for the Mar 2023 game update. I had a backup copy of your previous version, and of course it's still okay with 35049. So it seems your new version has a conflict with 35049. Is it possible for you to update it again so that it remains compatible with both game versions? Thanks!

Hi, my concern is that the variable name has changed with the update. I don't have the 35049 build anymore and I'm not sure I can even go back to this version. More importantly, I'm not sure if it is possible to set a switch in the mod to apply either the old variable change or the new one. I'm asking for other modders about it but I'm not sure it could be done.

It says here
https://transportfever2.com/wiki/api-testing/modules/api.util.html
That you can call the functions described from anywhere.
You could use api.util.getBuildVersion() to determine what version was running and then call the appropriate block of code.
It also strikes me that one or the other of the variables involved should be nil, so you might be able to check that.

Hi, this may not help much, but g-o-g still has the offline install files for build 35049 available.

I've run into one other mod so far that has similar crash, which I had to roll back to a 35049-era mod version: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1924672173. Dunno if it's same event tho, in that case it crashed when I tried to enable ambient occlusion in the graphic settings.

Cheers

i just updated the mod to also handle previous game version. Could you please deapply and reapply to this mod and tell me if it works as expected ?

Success!! 🥳 In my build 35049 installation, I loaded a clean save game file with only this mod active and everything was fine. To double confirm, I tried to load the same game file but with the previous version of this mod, and it crashed when I clicked to activate the mod.

(I'm not able to test it in build 35243 right at the moment because it's failing to load anything right now, even tho it was working fine last night 🤷‍♂️ Whole other problem...)

Thanks so much, cheers! 😊

Glad to hear that. I'm playing on 35243, so I can tell it works as well on this version :)

I just discovered why 35243 stopped working, apparently it crashes at end of game load progress bar if no audio output devices are connected (speakers, headphones, etc). Took foreverrr to figure that out!!

So yup I have the new mod version running ok in build 35243 now too. Thanks again!! 😊
