Got an idea force: you could make a variant of the Storm Covenant faction that has the prometheans and the Didact as a leader since they allied with him

I could do the Prometheans. Did you want them integrated with the Storm Covenant as an additional set or as a completely separate set by themselves? Since current-era Prometheans are technically machines, I could make it so that when you research robot tech, the robot portrait will turn into a Promethean and have it trigger if you have the "Didact's Hand" civic. I did that with the droid portraits in my Star Wars mods. Would that work for you or did you want something else?

I was thinking about them being integrated with the Storm Covenant as an additional set, though tying it with the civic sounds like a cool idea because then you can have the robotic army names as "Promethean Knights" or something like that. If you do it the way with the civic would you be able to make it so the Didact is a leader option on start? Or another idea (sorry if im rambling lol) is you could make the Prometheans a completely different set of portraits and then someone could use the origin that allows you to start with two races, that way we could start with both at the same time.

Your suggestions sound good and yes I'll put the Didact as a leader option. However, I believe your last suggestion won't work since I tried that before and I could never get it to work properly since the machines would always be purged. There is probably a way to do it, but I honestly have no idea.

Ah okay gotcha, and thank you - maybe you could also put in Reqieum (dont know if i spelled that correctly) as a starting planet too. If you wanted I think theres a shield world texture for the planets in the really old forerunner standalone mod but i'm not 100% positive as its been years since ive played using it. Either way looking forward to future updates :steamhappy:

Hey again force - I have an idea for the civic that will let the Prometheans have a species under them if you haven't already decided on how you're doing it

Hey there. Sure you can tell me but I wanted to let you know what I have so far:

1. I added a new civic called "Living Forerunner" that grants immortality and a number of modifiers for your starting ruler. This civic requires the "Didact's Hand" civic to be selected too. I also put the Didact's portrait in with the Storm Covenant as an ruler option.

2. The Living Forerunner civic also has an event where once you build your first robot pops, their portraits will convert to look like the Promethean Knights. It will also automatically add the Mechanical Promethean trait.

What do you think?

I like it - "Living Forerunner" sounds exactly what I was hoping for because I really want a reason to use the covenant ships while still having the Didact incharge with the prometheans. My idea was for a civic called "Reverent Followers" which would basically be the same thing as rogue servitors except the organic pops you start with have residence citizenship and full military service.

"Having a reverence for the Forerunners and a common enemy in the form of humanity, a second species has put themselves under the banner of the Prometheans."

Excited to see Living Forerunner implemented into the mod :)

Sounds good. I'll upload the changes momentarily. Also, I like your idea too, but I haven't had much luck with modding secondary species so far. However, if I'm able to set it up correctly in the future, I'll be sure implement your idea when I can. :)

Update looks good - just one thing: could you make it add a few robot pops at the start if they are using the Living Forerunner civic? (similarly to how Writ of Union gives a few Sangheili)

I wasn't able to add robot pops like I did with the other civic. I'll make another attempt at it but I made sure that you could build robots at the start of the game by unlocking the robot assembly planet and droids tech. You should have that tech unlocked.
