Certain parts of the map lag heavily
I ran this map on a sandbox server recently and many of the players complained of dropping frames from 100-120 fps to 20 fps when looking in certain directions.
Certain players even lagged to the point of crashing when exposed to the sunlight.
I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue, Singleplayer or Multiplayer (preferably the latter)

I'm aware of these fps drops, I have the same drops but never saw anyone crashing for this.
The FPS issue is certainly due to the size of the map and the amount of open areas plus every struture in these.

Unfortunalty, I don't think there is much to do for fixing it, as i'm at the limit of the source engine I guess.
Maybe there is a solution but didn't find it, as I'm not very good at mapping.
Thank you for making this map, I too play on a sandbox server with this map, and when very large builds are spawned in, people drop fps significantly.
The last map the server used, (gm_bigcity_improved_lite) unrendered entities behind world geometry, this helped greatly with fps. I was wondering if this map maybe had an issue with this sort of optimization, as fps lag persists even if the culprit laggy builds are hidden behind world geometry.
Thank you again for making this map, quality content like this takes time and this community could do with more creations like this.
got this problem but cant even run the map at all
I haven't looked into the maps technical setup, but I feel like either the map doesn't have occlusion areas, or the occlusion areas arn't set up right...
i got a very weak laptop, and it doesnt lag for me :P
the lag was never a problem in singleplayer, it always ran very smooth in singleplayer.
fps started dropping when i was on the server with 10+ other people
this problem persists, it's annoying as hell
really want to keep this map as my server's main map as it's got everything we want, but The Direction is quite a centre of activity so the FPS dropping to 10 is one hell of a problem
