Hey man really love this mod, hopefully i get a lot of interesting playthroughs with this, but i can't seem to actually get the Background without crashing the game
Comobie 28 Apr, 2020 @ 12:29pm
Unless there's something I have that may be preventing it
Comobie 28 Apr, 2020 @ 12:31pm
Cause when i click on it, there's no text that shows up for the description

That sounds quite serious; could you send me your player.log via Discord? I'll add you on Steam now.

MagicPurplePony, could you be more specific? When and where did this happen? Was this with the Aspiring Barathrumite background? Did the entire game crash or no? Thanks in advance.

Hello Com. I'm almost certain the issue is you're probably playing Qud on the latest stable version; is this true?
This mod (along with a lot of others on the workshop) were designed to be kept up-to-date with the most recent beta branch. So if you'd like to play TT, you'll have to right-click on your Caves of Qud icon in Steam, then select 'Properties', then 'Betas' and select 'beta -'

If that doesn't work, or if you were already running the latest beta, then please say so and I'll have a look at your player.log.

After the newest July 17th update, selecting a background in the mutations screen without the overlay UI on crashes the game. With the overlay UI on, the crash doesn't occur until you move to the next character creation screen. Done after a clean re-install. Did it a few times, so it's reproducible.

Found the issue, it was something to do with hearthpyre. Problem was fixed when I removed it. Might wanna bring it up with them maybe. Don't think I've ever had issues with compatibility regarding CoQ mods, which is really strange.

And now for some reason it seems to be working! I reinstalled it to test it and see if I can grab a player.log for the crash, but now it seems to be working fine?????? I have no idea what fixed this, and I kinda regret not grabbing the player.log so this can be better diagnosed. Might just be how janky steam is with mod updates, I dunno. But yeah. Very strange....
