Suggestions and Updates Discussion
Hey folks, I'm opening up a discussion page where you can post any suggestions or discuss new updates for the mod.

April 2023 UPDATE:

To repeat what I've said in the descripion:

The end goal in my case is to implement a Gloriana-class battleship model (based off the Macragge's Honour) as the flagship model. However, it will take me an enormous amount of time to model and texture. Alas, the chances of this happening in the near future are slim-to-none (Further update: Due to the large amount of assets I've built up over reworking a ton of ships, I'm now in a good position to model the Gloriana this summer. No promises though).

Plans for the next update involves reworks to the larger capital ship models such as the Battleship, Carrier, and Titan. Planned for release during Stellaris 3.8.

With regards to ship sections/turrets
I imported a majority of the ship models from Paragon's version of We are the Imperial Navy [no longer available], where the models did not support swappable ship sections or turrets. Therefore, in order to implement these features I will need to remodel every ship which I do not have the time for, or to straight up rip Reiseafa's models and rework all of his models to fit this mod which also requires a giant amount of work and something I don't want to do. These features may be feasible in the future given I have extra time or volunteers to work on these models.

I'll start off with a copy and paste of my notes of the latest update -

V1.4.1 Update - Readded the Blackstone Fortress model as the NSC2 Headquarters. Downscaled the Phalanx Juggernaut model and slightly upcaled the Blackstone Fortress model to both be of similar scale. Upscaled the Ramilies (fortress) model to be more WH40k lore-friendly (larger than most ship classes but not too large for stellaris scales) and updated it with new 4k textures. Upscaled the Cobra (corvette missile boat) model to be more similar to the Sword (normal corvette) model. Updated Blackstone Fortress textures. Removed flag-colour based specular map support for ships which had it - this will be in preparation for future colour scheme updates (will be reverting the ship colour schemes back to be all black and gold soon).

So after many rewatches of the BFG2 Tutorial, I have concluded: The Phalanx outsizes the Blackstone Fortress by about 0.5x more (currently they are 1x), this means making the Phalanx 1.5x while the Blackstone Fortress stays 1x.

Alright, thanks! Since up-scaling the Phalanx by 1.5 will make it look ridiculously large, I'll downscale the Blackstone Fortress to 0.667x (rounding it up to 0.7x) the current scale - (1 divided 1.5 ratio).

Once you are able to, I would make the Exploration ships you can research (NSC2) Ark Mechanicus Ships.
If you want, they can be for now oversized version of the Construct / Science Ships.

If I may make a request:
Could we have alternative Cruiser and NSC2 escort-carrier models?
Endeavour and Endurance models for cruisers, and Defiant for the escort-carrier.

Do you think you could you make like an Alternative Battleship/Titan and have it be the Gloriana Class Battleship. Though it could even be an Alt NSC Glashship since those bois were at least 20km long

Okay guys, I've finally gotten my hands on Maya (somehow) and have (sort-of) created my first model (which is basically Paragon's battlecruiser model that's been edited a bit). It'll take a while for me to learn all of its 3d modelling features but once I get the hang of it, I'll be updating all the ship models to have animated turret etc. as well as create completely new ships.

As requested by Leonardo and Reeon, I'll be thinking of making the Ark Mechanicus the Exploration Cruiser (though I feel it's arnaments will be a bit underwhelming compared to WH40K lore unless I can change the modules a bit to be of dreadnought capability). And I'll make the Endeaver/Endurance for the Cruiser model and just have the Dauntless a Strike Cruiser

As for Zer0_Requiem's suggestion, I've actually been thinking of making the Mcragge's Honour Gloriana-class battleship the NSC2 flagship this whole time. However, I think I'll need to get some more experience with Maya's 3d modeling features first and build up experience as so to make the Flagship the best looking it can be.

Need a new module for habitats.I suggest the model be based on the black stone fortress or the phalanx.

Rework the turret nodes and such, at least on corvettes and the first defence platforms. Looking at them and finding immediately that the turret location is not actually applied to any turrets made me go back and restart the campaign with Machine Shipset.

my only problem is that for the flagship and titan models... the turret nodes for large weapon slots are all in the lance batteries at the back with none being in the broadside turrets

That's mostly because you can't get broadsides to work with Stellaris, IIRC.
