Empire Victory Conditions
Praise Sigmar, citizens. As per the author's request, I post suggestions concerning a specific faction in a discussion thread.

I definitely like the VCs of Reikland. Short victory feels "just right". Not too grindy and quite engaging. Moreover, long victory looks like something that you may want to do if after achieving short victory you are still having fun and don't have to end the game yet, which I guess is also "just right". Nice.

However, I must say that I'm not a fan of the VCs of the Golden Order. Its short victory is really just a longer version of the Reikland's one. You still have to control all of the Empire and reconquer Sylvannia, but additionally you have to destroy Grimgor and Crooked Moon. I think this is rather uninspiring. The author said that he respects Vanilla in that regard and while it is good in principle, we all know that Vanilla victory conditions are often badly designed and this mod is an overhaul of VCs, after all.

Gelt is supposed to be encouraged to go south, not north. Otherwise his faction becomes too similar to Reikland. Even the narrator in the ME says that Gelt was tasked to secure the southern border. IMO only the long victory should require the Golden Order to control all of the Empire. For the short victory, it should be enough to control the southern provinces only (including Reikland), reconquer Sylvannia, as well as to destroy the southern threats - Grimgor and Crooked Moon, but also Clan Skryre, Clan Fester and Pirates of Sartosa. That should keep the Golden Order different enough.

According to the description, the only difference between the short and long victory of The Huntsmarshal's Expedition is the defeat of Archaon, but the victory_objectives.txt file tells us otherwise (long victory requires destruction of Clan Mors and Nakai). For the short victory, IMO the destruction of Noctilus should be dropped (but kept for the long victory), while the destruction of Nakai should be added. He is the nemesis of Markus in the campaign, after all. Clan Mors seems like a poor choice for long victory. It is on the opposite side of the map, this seems random. To keep with the New World conquistador theme, in the long victory IMO Markus should be required to destroy Cylostra, Morathi and Clan Rictus. That would make the campaign quite long, but it's a long victory, after all.

Alternatively, the short victory could require Markus only to gain 100 acclaim and destroy Nakai, Itza, Hexoatl and Vampire Coast (but not Clan Pestilens and Noctilus, who are much further away), without any other requirements concerning control of all of Lustria, which would be part of the long victory. I think that the focus on acclaim should stay, because it is Markus' unique feature and represents things he should be doing thematically.

Just adding here that, for the short victory, Markus should only conquer 5/6 provinces of Lustria and have 60 Acclaim. All Lustria/100 Acclaim should be reserved for the Long Victory.
