Alright we all know the drill, lets get right to it.

Any idea how to customize portraits in this UGC? Replacing the seattle ones doesn't seem to work for me.

Hmmm it really should be fine if you go to your seattle directory and replace one of the stock images with your own (and use the exact same file name of course). My guess would be you aren't doing one of these two things: image must be PNG format, and image must be right size, i think its 212x272. In theory I don't how see that could not be successful. Just make sure you are picking one of the pics that shows up when you make a character, to replace with your own.

Hi, do i have to unzip the fifth edition profile files or does this ugc get this automatically?

You must, must, must to get this game to work, go to the link 'Kill-City Colleciton /Dependencies' and go to subscribe to all. Kill-City uses 8 UGCs and they all need to be there. For the fifth edition profile pictures, I do believe they are all the KCD UGC file, because I moving towards a dependency free build, but just in case, doesn't hurt at all, just go to 'subscribe to all', the link is in the installation instructions.

Would be nice I guess, but I can't tell since it's impossible to defeat Doom, who kills my character in 1 or 2 hits, with me not being to do any damage at all, even if I'm able to hit him, and my runner doesn't come with me.

A) Sorry man, Doom is tough. A little too tough, but he's tough. I find most games too easy, and if they are easy, I have no interest in playing them. So I made this game hard for other people like myself like challenges. I will say though that beating Doom isn't that hard, if you focus on a combat character. For example, choose the 'Athelete' trait, and get at least 5 for your body. This guy with a 3 in rifle would be able to beat Doom. Also: you don't have to kill Doom right away, if you have an 'attractive' character or non-fighter you can take over a base or two first, you can attack Doom whenever you want. I did it last night with a criminal-drone specialist, my A class drone killed Doom no problem. All that said though, I also scaled Doom back as well a bit, because the narco jet is way strong, in v107. B) For the graveyard and the one-off 'Heist' Jobs, it is just your PC , not your running team. I'll make this more clear in the game, that's not a bug.

Any reason why "import character" is disabled? (have not started it for that reason yet)

Yes, it would totally ruin the game balance if you could just bring in any high level character. I dunno, personally I don't think that's fun, but maybe if lots of people would like that I can put that option in.

Are supposed to be able to use totems or not?

Totems is a reported bug, I did not realize their was a problems there. They be in the game, likely even next version. The shamans classes will be getting more attention, they are the most under-served class. Note that there is a guy to buy spells from at the Bar, roughly 1/4 times you go he shows up. If you see the message 'Whoa deja vu' from your character go explore the upper left corner of the map :)

There are some hang-ups on loading screens, but just wait out an extra fifteen seconds and the wait's worth it! This is a cool mod. But...you could use an editor for your dialogue! ... *ahem* I could help if you'd like.

I'll do another editorial pass. Apparently I spelt 'commputer' in a few places, which is pretty embarrassing.

Me:
What are the plans going forward?
Going to be working on bug fixes first. Then I'll be adding 4 new PC-only spawn areas (heist jobs, larger than then the present ones). Then more locations, hope to add a 'Kung-Fu Temple' for Taoist Adepts and shamans. Also planning to adapt the Fight Club 2.0 UGC into Kill-City as well.
Down the road, hope to make one more faction and base in the game with the expansion pack. Then more special characters. Then finally, more random odd things in the game that can randomly happen on faction/base attack missions.
Then I'm going to relax.

Me:
This is not very Shadowrun-ny ?
No, no it's not. It is a seperate universe altogether. There is no attempt at any sort of crossing-over. This game is very cyberpunk. But not very Shadowrun-ny besides the ruleset. In fact, as far as I know, in Shadowrun Detroit is actually one of the nicer, safer places around. Not so in this game.

Me:
I keep on getting shot up and it takes so long to heal, anything I can do?
There is free unlimited healing for your playing character (not your runners) in the hideout, and in the clinic. The hideout, take a couple of bong hoots, that'll fix you up; in the clinic, nurse Ariel is really nice, go find her!

Me:
How are Deckers and Decking handled in this game?
Much differently than in Shadowrun Returns. In this game, decking is seperate from combat completely. A randomized, large Matrix exists that can be accessed through any base computer. Deckers will have an easier time on the Matrix, able to go longer before setting off an alarm and defending themselves from monsters on the net.

Me:
Are etiquettes used in the game?
No. I used the etiquette spots in the characters to write data such as contract costs, locking pick skills etc. So in fact, please avoid any weird cyberware or abilities that change etiquette scores for your character, as it will likely cause bugs.

Me: How do I find the location of so-and-so ? I can't get there.
You need to find each location of a place in-game. Their are 3 ways of doing this: a) pay the cabbie a tip, he'll randomly bring you somplace. B) trade a nuBTC coin to Maggie in the bar, she'll give you a location in exchange. c) on the Matrix there is random encounter that sells locations. Their is also the 4th way actually. If you choose the starting trait 'criminal' or the ninja, they will know locations.

Me: NINJA? You can be a ninja in this game???
Sure can, though a ninja is sorta secretive and stuff. You can find him if you creep around the 'character traits' selection screen. Where would a ninja be hiding on that screen? If you can't find him I guess you just aren't ninja-ey enough to be worthy.

Me: Wow this game has new custom TOTEMS as well?
Yeah I have been busy..! The new Kill-City totems are expanded/enhanced version of the old ones, with greater tweaks, greater time outs, and generally much larger area of affect so you can get your whole, larger team. You get these from the Chessman (a meat world location). I think I'm going to raise the req's to 4 spirit summoning, right now it is 3. Note: The totems are invisible on your character until you are in battle. New totems include: Rat, Polar Bear, Humming Bird, Tree Frog, and something else.

Lots of folks: Where can I buy magic in this game?
If you want to be a primary magic user, I recommend starting as an esoteriscist, which gains up to four spells at the start (the more spell slots you have from choosing your stats, the more spells you'll get).
A random spell merchant is available sometime at the bar (roughly 1/3rd of the time). He hides out in the upper left corner of the map. Spells can also be purchased from the Chessman, or from vendors on The Matrix. Finally, you can get a spell from Storm, and from the rocks to the right of the starting cemetary map.

Me: How is the balance between different character types?
I think it is pretty strong. The nerds are a different case than most Shadowrun mods: they will really benefit from being able to stay on the Matrix longer, and have much a greater chance of being able to unlock the 3 secret Matrix super-powered runners, which gives them an edge to make up for the lost combat abilities.
The Toaist adept and other unarmed builds are probably going to have the toughest time in this game, I may buff them. The ninja is fine though. As for the others, I think they are all pretty balanced. The 'wealthy' character trait is maybe the weakest, but I think it gives more advanced players a way to perform early game strategies that may be unique to that class.

Me: Is there an end-game?
Yes , there is a mid-boss and an end-boss. The mid-boss triggers after you take out 6 or 7 bases (not that they don't have to be all different bases, technically you could take out the same base 7 times. I did this so no one is stuck unable to find a hidden base. You also do not have to move into the base to trigger the event). Once you take over the 7, you will get an email on your base computer telling you what to do next. And again, once hitting 9, you will get invited to a final showdown.

Thanks for all the feedback. Really glad to be able to get this game out there. Also, will be doing more builds and more bug fixes, thanks for patience.
