Continued: Yeah, the plege was selected a turn before the attack and before the settlement was besieged.

I will replay the battle and try to confirm my results.

Very strange. after doing some testing for the last hour, I won a defensive battle against WE and against Daith, and won a defensive battle for both walled and unwalled settlements (vs BM and GS). Only thing I couldn't test was *Daith* attacking a walled settlement (oh WE ai in vanilla X_x....). Thing is, I got vow progression for all of these. knowing the script, I seriously doubt that specifically Daith attacking a walled settlement would change anything... It was a defensive siege battle you fought, not sallying forth, correct? And was there anything else that didn't work for you in the mod, like another time that you never got vow progress? If so maybe it could give me a clue. Right now I suspect a strange compatibility problem, but if that's the case then how are Louen's vows unlocked..? I'm really confused about this bug.

About Peg Knights - Yea, that's me. I just liked it better in WH1 when Questing vow didn't unlock only one unit :)

It was a defensive siege. I must say that it's early in the campaign, so I have no other vow feedback. I might be able to test the most garbage one rather easily (construct buildings X times), but you intentionally made other ones less convenient, so it's not such a quick test :D.

Would posting the modlist be helpful in any way?

yes, post the modlist.
If your first battle vs WE already caused trouble - that sounds quite suspicious to me... Whatever's wrong, there are probably more bugs to come. Don't ruin your campaign with intentional testing (it kills the vibe!), but if you want to snoop around for bugs maybe start some ultra easy campaign with Louen or Alberic, throw in some cheat mod and go kick stuff around. At least that's how I do QA ;-)

In the meantime I'll check your modlist.

I did some more tests today but still couldn't recreate the bug, everything works fine for me. I also looked at your modlist but nothing sticks out.

My current assumption is that you have some limited compatibility problem. Let's say an ai mod that says daith is not WE culture for some reason, so the vow won't trigger after killing him, but that doesn't override the vow script in general so Louen still starts with all of his vows. Problem is that also after a deep dive into your modlist I still have no idea what the incompatibility could be...

I think we will need to put some effort in if we want to figure this out. I'm interested because I want to give people an accurate compatibility disclaimer (and be sure it's not a bug on my part...), but I understand if that's not a priority for you. So if you have time - make some tests and see when the mod works or doesn't work. Getting a fuller picture will help me a lot.

So I made more tests myself. Defeat X lords from race Y vows seem bugged for me in general, as they don't work for Greenskins, Beastmen, Wood Elves or other Bretonnians.

Construction vow works. Occupation ones seem to work as well.

I would be interested to know what's your mod setup that's supposed to work 100% bug free so I can test this when I find some time.
