Faerun for BNW
Tips for new players
I'm making this in hopes that some more experienced players post some tips to playing with this mod. There is so much to learn here and I don't even know the half of it.

Only tips I can think of:
>look at the resources around you and build your tech off of that.
>The sooner you get a hero the more you can level them
>you will end up with three social policies devotion and two of your choice. Keep that in mind.

that's all I really got. I don't know how to choose my alignment, I haven't decided exactly how to roll my tech outside of getting the tile improvements i'll need, there's so much to the social policies I still take a few minutes tor ead each one before I pick one.

And the biggest question for me: I'm playing Tchazzar and bandit heroes keep spawning in my territory. There's nothing telling me why, I'm assumign it's dragon slayers? Why is this happening and can I stop it?

AFAIK you choose your alignment by sending a hero within two hexes of a city state. It's called a pilgrimage. The city state has to have a religion of some sort and two pop in one your cities will convert to that religion.

Happiness -2 or lower causes uprisings. It appears your towns do not defect. Keeping happiness low is a way to train your troops and heros.

Depending on the policies you choose you can have 2 to 4 cities. Towns of population 6 to 8 area are big. You're not going to see population 10+ cities like in Civ5. Plan your empire accordingly.

Some city states accept citizens as a tribute. You can use these to quickely get rid of unhappy population. And it gets you an ally in the process.

Do not loose your heroes. Especially the heroes of the top tenets of the alignments bring as much perks as a complete school of magic.

I am confused as how you get charters to make new cities?

Think its cause your playing evil alignment or something, but with good alignment its very easy to get high pop in all cities and have high happiness. Only thing different is that unlike in the normal version population doesn't really increase your science. It could just be some of the starting locations are unbalanced though, I always picked civs that started in the southwest jungles so far, and it seems like the best location on map.

If you want to have any chance of winning the religious victory (i.e. conquering every religious city state in the world), make it a priority to build your first or second city near a mountain and build the Blackstaff tower. It lets your units teleport around your empire to friendly cities anywhere in the world, and is extremely useful for getting units to the front line quickly.
