Sid Meier's Civilization V

Faerun for BNW
Maine 5 Feb, 2014 @ 4:15pm
100% repro crash on starting new game on Mac, with v6
100% consistent crash on entering a new game with 'Faerun for BNW' on Mac, upon clicking "Begin your Journey" after loading in. Tried different civilizations, both Faerun (True Start) and Faerun+Underdark (True Start), with and without scenario. Pre-game setup works as expected.

Running OS X 10.9.1 on a MBPro Retina 15" w/ 8 GB RAM. Stack trace is not very useful, I tried using LLDB on the DLL but the stacktrace is not in any exported functions, so no useful symbols.

BNW itself works fine, as do other mods tested (the Alpha Centauri set + Future Tech).

I've done a Steam integrity check, and also tried re-installing the mod from the direct download link.

I enabled various debug logging options, and while nothing obvious comes up, this was the last part of the Lua log:

[120711.767] Tutorial: WorkerBuildCheck begin
[120711.768] Tutorial: begin FirstConstructionCompleteCheck
[120711.801] Advisors: Marking FIRST_CARAVAN as seen
[120711.811] TechTree: REFRESHING TECH DISPLAY
[120711.819] Tutorial: WorkerBuildCheck begin
[120711.819] Tutorial: begin FirstConstructionCompleteCheck

Hi. In general I cannot provide any support for Mac issues, though I appreciate you making this post for others. If you want to send me the full logs (both lua and database) then please add me via steam friends. A final note is that you must be running the game under 1.0.3.144 in order for Faerun to work.

Same problem I have the version it just crashes when I do that I use a Mac Os X version 10.6.8 and 2 processors with an Intel Core i3 with 4 gigabites but when I click begin journey it crashes, look so much forward to this mod. Had the same problem with the last mod ( A mod Of Fire and Ice) but it worked great after I deleted my saves because it give a plus +7 gigabite attack to your savess maybe that works.

Same problem here. The game crashes on "Begin journey", with the 1.0.3.144 version and configuration working as expected. I'm guessing no one got any solution ?

Same issue as the others: Crashes Civ at the start of the game. Loads the map and before I can reallyd do anything {Booooinggg}. Crash. I would just love to see this working. My son is using it on his PC and goes on about it at length. My Mac is jealous.

The Vanilla version worked fine, but when I upgraded to BNW, and this version of the mod, I get the same crash.

same for me, running mavericks, 16GB Ram, Nvidia graphics, 2.3GhZ intel core i7.
No idea why it keeps crashing, BNW is fine and I have all DLC.

I really cannot support operating systems other than Win; that said Faerun BNW requires at least version 1.0.3.144 to run AT ALL. I'm not sure how game versions translate over to mac, but this did cause similar issues for players that had not updated their game version while running under windows.
