Clans of Skygard Guide [Outdated: 04/08/2020]
This guide has been outdated since the release of v1.2.0 (Civil War Update). I will update the guide whenever I got time for this but first, you need to know the teams:
  • Team Imperials: Solitude (Wolf), Markarth (Goat), Falkreath (Stag) and Horse (Whiterun).
  • Team Stormcloaks: Windhelm (Bear), Winterhold (Boar), Dawnstar (Raven) and Riften (Snake).

Clans of the Nine Eight Holds of Skyrim Skygard
Falkreath Hold (Falkreath) represented by Eikthyrnir, the Clan of the Stag.
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Pros: Jerall Mountains to the south makes it easier to defend the Town Hall. Easy to find food. Three dragons nearby, fame to the Stag! R.I.P. Helgen though there might be hidden treasure in there. Guardian Stones (Circle of Stones) nearby.
  • Cons: Whiterun (Horse Clan) is as close as 5 tiles. Second closest (5 tiles) to the Myrkálfar. Well, three dragons nearby.

The Reach (Markarth) represented by Heidrun, the Clan of the Goat.
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Pros: The most isolated Town Hall by obstacles which making it easy to defend. Tons of food to find. Two dragons nearby.
  • Cons: Closest clan (6 tiles) to Solitude (Wolf Clan) which is one of the most powerful among two others in Skygard. Closest (6 tiles) to the Kobolds.

Haafingar (Solitude) represented by Fenrir, the Clan of the Wolf.
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Pros: Environment is easy to defend. One of the most powerful clans (Top 3) in Skygard. Coastal tiles around the Town Hall. A lot of Wolf Den to hunt for food. Two dragons nearby.
  • Cons: Less food tiles nearby, which causes to have very limited food capacity. Colonization becomes harder and harder which leads player to use Berserker's colonization ability around mid-game. Too far away to other clans except Markarth (Goat Clan) to the southwest. Can be harassed by Dawnstar (Raven Clan) if they grow well.

The Pale (Dawnstar) represented by Huginn and Muninn, the Clan of the Raven.
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Pros: Surrounded by many coastal tiles. Rich environment with little wildlife threat. Close to Collage of Winterhold (Sword of the Gods) by 5 tiles to grow on lore quickly. One of the closest to the giants (Jötnar) by 2 tiles, the other is Whiterun by 2 tiles.
  • Cons: Close to three other clans: Whiterun (Horse Clan) by 5 tiles, Winterhold (Boar Clan) by 4 tiles, and Windhelm (Bear Clan) by 5 tiles which is one of the most powerful clans (Top 3) in Skygard. Only one dragon is nearby.

Eastmarch (Windhelm) represented by Bjarki, the Clan of the Bear.
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Pros: Tons of fish and other food tiles are nearby to feed the bear, YUM! Limited yet still able to access the sea. Easy to defend due to many obstacles (rivers and mountains) around. Close to Collage of Winterhold (Sword of the Gods) by 5 tiles to grow on lore quickly. Three dragons nearby.
  • Cons: Region is blocked by many obstacles to frustrate you enough with harder navigation. Harsh surroundings to the south making your surroundings is the best and the worst thing will happen to you, almost.

Winterhold Hold (Winterhold) represented by Slidrugtanni, the Clan of the Boar.
  • Difficulty: Very Hard
  • Pros: Surrounded by many coastal tiles. Collage of Winterhold (Sword of the Gods) is literally in your backyard! Easy to win the game with Wisdom victory.
  • Cons: Rivaled by two clans: Dawnstar (Raven Clan) by 4 tiles and Windhelm (Bear Clan) by 4 tiles which is one ofthe most powerful clans (Top 3) in Skygard. Other clans will block your way to expand and your only alternative is to fight with them, or defend your borders on your way to the Wisdom victory. Collage of Winterhold (Sword of the Gods) is well defended by NPC creatures.

The Rift (Riften) represented by Sváfnir, the Clan of the Snake.
(DLC required to play!)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Pros: Lots of food resources nearby. The most isolated Town Hall by distance to other clans. Rich environment with little wildlife threat. A dragon is literally resting in your backyard! Easiest gameplay for PvE players. Stealth!
  • Cons: Third closest (6 tiles) to the Myrkálfar. That dragon does not mean anything to you since Fame victory is not an option for your clan.

Whiterun Hold (Whiterun) represented by Svadilfari, the Clan of the Horse.
(DLC required to play!)
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Pros: You are (almost) in the middle of the map, anything and everything is already within your grasp! Fertile lands around you will produce food more than your need. Closest to the giants (Jötnar) by 2 tiles! Two or three dragons nearby.
  • Cons: You are also close to any danger by being in the middle of the map, including other clans. Closest to the Myrkálfar by 4 tiles! Bleak Falls Barrow (Draugr Tombs) is home place to many draugr next to one of your future farmlands.
