First of all, a million thanks for updating this mod!. One of my favorite shipsets. Second, will you be retexturing all of the vanilla mega-structures kinda how Machine Shipset changes the look on the mega-structures

Sometime eventually, it will be done, but as of now there are many other projects and bugs that need to happen before that, now I am open to help from others, so should anyone make something for this mod I will try to find a place for it, help is very much so needed to make this mod continue.

One thing I always missed with KE was a models for all 7 levels of NSC station plus NSC HQ model.

Megastructures would be nice addition too, but I don't hold my breath for them. Same with turrets.

May I also suggest following improvements for NSC classes?

Escort carrier models are tied to "Bow" section:

I think it would be much better to tie them to second carrier section:

There is "Carrier" and "invasion" types there which fit perfectly for 2 avaliable models.


Similar logic is also fit for Carrier class, currently models are tied to Bow section:

However First Core section would be much better as there are space for 4 models:

Carrier - sections with no prefix tag
Heavy Carrier - sections starting with HC
Super Carrier - sections starting with SC
Invasion - Invasion section

Currently KE has 3 models for Carrier which fits well for Carrier, HC and SC.
I think one of Paragon unfinished models was also intended for Invasion Carrier, but never finished.

A Chunkier Flagship Skin, That makes use of all Possible turret locations when the 4 center peices are all Artillery. Maybe a Skin that gives off the same feel as the Blockier battleship Skin.

I think that making turrets will be the road of hell, due to how Stellaris engine work - turrets are assigned to modular sections,but this ship mod has whole ship model in single section while leaving the rest as blank.

This mean that with current status of KE you can only make turrets in 2 scenarios:
1) Ship class can have multiple models assigned different sections, but the class can have only one section (e.g. Corvette, Juggernaut, Small Def. Platform).
2) Ship class can be multi-section, but with only one ship model (e.g. in KE Flagship has only one model, Exploration Cruiser and Titan as well).

The issue could be resolved by cutting all models into modular sections (like in Machine Shipset mod), but this is the work an order of magnitude bigger than making whole KE from the scratch.

Even if you do all of this, then finally there will be compactibility issue between vanilla and NSC Stellaris, if you decide to have all in one mod (the issue will be that some NSC turrets will not be displayed or will be put over another turrets).

This would require to separate mod to vanilla and NSC version.


Alternatively if you would see turrets as higher priority, but short on workpower, you could "downsize" the KE to the point where each ship class has only one ship model for the classes that have multi-section layout.

@Amber I have no intent to put turrets everywhere, in fact in my private mod version I've already got it working, the only thing left is proper textures, which will take awhile to come together.

I agree with Amber - it could be a work hrs sink and should be kept a close eye on to see if it becomes more trouble than its worth in a mod that is already amazing. But if it doesn't impact then I'm all for it. But I know turrets could be a finicky issue in some cases.
