Last Stand Update Discussion
After the Last Stand, many things from the mod had problems. In this discussion, I'll keep users updated on the stuff I'm fixing and adding. Please report any bugs that came after the update here.

what do you mean with the same for l4d2? they already use the shader system, and have colorization and all that

I was referring to new clothes for the infected of l4d2 but it seems to me that you are not going to do them right?

I plan to only do the L4D1 common infected, since the l4d2 ci where given enough care.

Okay Dude.Hey a question: will gore be added to the common l4d1 infected in the last stand update?

yes, I asked someone who worked in the update on how to set up the qc, so now I'm setting up everything so after the update these models have gore too. Since there will be no burning, models will have gore, 16 textures (so either 1 or 2 for the body skins, and the rest for face textures) and even beta faces. I updated most beta faces to the new uv's, but since they did it too, I gues I'll use theirs if they look better

The changelog for infected in The Last Stand update, for reference

(Kerry / Lt. Rocky / Rayman / Salad) - Added L4D1 Special Infected models to spawn in the L4D1 campaigns* (Bronwen) - Modified Infected shader to support gibs with a standard set of textures* -$DISABLEVARIATION turns off all the diffuse variation features, allowing a bespoke diffuse map to be used -The new diffuse map's alpha channel can be used as a specular mask. -$BUMPMAP enables bump mapping, but only if shaders are on high -The bump map's alpha channel is used as the exponent map if it is enabled -If the bump map is not enabled, $DEFAULTPHONGEXPONENT is used -$BLOODPHONGEXPONENT and $BLOODSPECBOOST are still used -The burn detail mask is also disabled when variation is disabled (otherwise we'd have crispy skin texture all over the clothing) (Kerry) - Enabled "z_boomer_gibs" by default (Lt. Great to hear the females will have all their face textures back! Cant wait to see what you do for the female common infected after you're response to my very long suggestion list. Also @Anibal if you go through the suggestion discussion you will see stuff releated to whats confirmed for the female common and other suggestions Skessler is considering/attempting to implement.

Indeed, I will add more clothing for the females, and now that I have less material limits, all the females will have all their faces. The update will come with some textures from the beta, such as female tank tops, jeans, and more skirt textures. So of course I'll implement them and add on them, expect long and short sleeve versions. I will now halt the development on the rural male, and instead try to get the models ready for the update. So in the next few days expect more (and new) faces.
I'll also increase the resolution of the faces, the original files are in 2k, but I downscaled them to 1k to match the retail faces. Since the update is going to remaster them by recompiling them in their original 2k resolution, I'll do the same for my textures.
