Map update and issues
Hey all, glad you're enjoying the map!

I fixed the exporting issues; leaving this wall of text for context.

TL;DR - There might not be anymore updates to this map cause of some issues.

A couple users have pointed out the collision issues and I've been working on fixing them (at the time of writing this post.) However, I have run into a few issues.

1. When exporting the map from Unity for playtesting, the exported map is always an outdated version. When I make a minor change, like add a giant water cooler in the sky, the exported map doesn't reflect those changes. So, I can't test if the collisions are fixed.

2. Terrain's gone. Yep. I tried to save the map, then close and reopen Unity to see if that would fix the exporting issue. Opened the map and the terrain vanished. So I'll be redoing the terrain. Hopefully it will look a bit better than the first version.

3. Can't export the map. I created a new terrain and saved everything as a new scene in Unity. When I try to scan pathfinding, or export the open scene as a map, I get an error.
"Could not copy map to the mod staging folder. scrapyardredo.rfl does not exist"
Makes sense 'cause it's a new scene so the .rfl wouldn't exist. But isn't scan pathfinding supposed to make it exist?

I'll try to reinstall Unity and the Ravenfield Modding Tools to see if it resolves the aforementioned issues. If that doesn't fix it, I'll probably move on to a different project. Thanks for reading this wall of text and hope you have a good time!

In case anyone ran into the "Could not copy map to the mod staging folder" issue I did, here's how I fixed it.

  1. Redownload the Ravenfield Tools Pack.
  2. Unzip the folder.
  3. Rename the folder to a different name other than the default one.
  4. Open Unity.
  5. Open the newly named folder.
  6. Let Unity import the assets and do its thing.
  7. Once finished, load the provided example scene and scan pathfinding to make sure Unity can copy map to the mod staging folder.
  8. If successful, close Unity.
  9. Go back to the old Ravenfield Tools Pack folder.
  10. Move all the assets used in the map (including meshes, materials, sounds, textures, terrain, etc.) into the newly named folder. Make sure to move the scene that has the export-failing map.
  11. Open Unity and let it import the assets.
  12. Open the scene you moved.
  13. Scan pathfinding to see if error continues.
  14. If you already uploaded the map to the Steam Workshop, go to the root Ravenfield Tools Pack folder of both folders. There should be the Assets, Library, ProjectSettings, and Workshop Staging folders. Move the Workshop Staging folders of the old RavenfieldToolsPack to root of the new unzipped tools pack folder.

Hope this helps someone.
